You should have them RSVP by September 13th, that gives them a couple extra weeks to get them in late, and to know your count 2 weeks ahead for dinner. Trust me people are really slow at RSVP'ing. Mine were all supposed to be back last week, and half of them still arent.

Well, that's dependent on when your caterer needs the final head count by. Say they want it 1 week out. Then I would ask for responses at least 2 weeks before that, if you're having a big wedding, maybe 3. The reason is...you're going to have to call people, because even if you send self addressed, stamped response cards/envelopes, some people will not return them. So you want to give yourself some slack time in there to make the phone calls you'll need to get as accurate a count as possible. Hope this helps.

I had to answer this question cuz October 13th is my birthday!!! You want to have people respond in time for YOUR arrangement making. It depends on many factors, i.e., are you serving food at a reception? If so, you'll need to have a head count of whose going to be there in order to count their serving. If you are going to pass out flowers to your guests, you'll need to know how many. These types of questions are answered by the number of people showing up so I would give myself PLENTY of time to get things in order. Since this is already June (almost) that gives you only 4 months. I'd make sure replies are all in a minimum of a month in advance. That way you won't be rushed and people can make plans for getting there. I know there are books on the subject. Look up Wedding Etiquette = http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.4af27a8e9e64e1611e3bf410b5900aa0/?vgnextoid=8b99cf380e1dd010VgnVCM1000005b09a00aRCRD&xsc=rm+yah+Wedding_Etiquette+Wedding$Etiquette or http://www.topweddingquestions.com

September 1st - you're always going to have people who respond at the last second, and you'll probably have to give a head count to your reception hall by October 1st.

First, you find out from the caterer the last possible date she needs the final headcount by. Then you add several days on to that, because if people don't rsvp, you need a day or two to make phonecalls. Invitations go out six to 8 weeks before the wedding, so once you find out the caterer's deadline, you can figure out your rsvp date.

2 months ahead. The lazy people/ procrastinators will get it in a month later, so you'll still have a lot of time to plan and make the final touches.

Roughly, three weeks before the date but I made everyone respond four weeks. It helped me not stress come my big day.
