I say I will one day in this lifetime walk like Jesus, I am not walking now, but I am striving in prayer. I will be perfect and holy. I do not do this by my hand alone, but by Gods power in heaven that will sustain me in a perfect state of mind. I will prove to the world that we did not need a savior, not one to be nailed to a tree anyway for our sins. But that Jesus died for our sins, not cuss we are retarted in sin, or we have to sin. I will show everyone that no one, maybe a few....seeks his face. Romans 3:11. and the only ones that do seek his face, read this verse and prayed to God and asked how do I seek my savior? The blood is a gift, and it is a great gift, because it did not have to be given. A man can be perfect by God's hand. For all things are possible with our God. If I am on the wrong track may the Lord in heaven instruct my soul, cuss I will not budge from my seek unto him. Why is my way wrong unto you? everytime you give me scrpitures I read them diferantly.

every scripture you give me in the bible that says to you you can not be perfect, it says to my soul you can be. Maybe it is a faith thing. God speaks differantly to us both.

You are doing what we all should be doing. You are turning from all sin and seeking the way of Jesus Christ. I agree with you what the Holy Spirit starts in us He is more than able to finish. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things and convicts our soul to follow Christ. The Holy Spirit will have me ready to stand accountable before the Lord Jesus Christ. I count all trials as joy. I hate sin and ask the Holy Spirit daily to help me to keep from sinning. God's Word tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but we can turn from sin and let the Holy Spirit guide us into all righteousness.
The only righteousness in me is the righteousness of Christ Jesus, but I strive every day to be like Christ.

And yes at that trumpet call to "Come up hither" you will be made perfect and taken up in the twinkling of an eye. Blessed be the Holy Spirit in me. Trust the Holy Spirit to accomplish what man can't accomplish on his own.

Why not? If he is perfect there is no reason he has to create all perfect things. There is a dichotomy here: God is perfect so there must be something imperfect to compare him to and since he is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent he creates everything including the imperfect that defines him. By the way God is not perfect; he makes mistakes. A case in point is Lakshmi the 3-4 yr old Indian girl successfully operated on last fall to remove 4 of the 8 limbs she was born with. And who says man is not perfect; what defines perfect? If God makes such mistakes and is called perfect then man is perfect too because he, like God, makes mistakes and, in this case, corrected God's mistake.. Good luck in defining perfect, good mental health, peace and Love!

Your question is quite similar to the one that the rich young ruler asked Jesus. His attitude was that he had done everything according to the law to make him righteous. Jesus' responded that he was lacking in the area of his posessions. The point was that even if he had said "ok Jesus, I'll give all that I have to the poor", Jesus would have pointed to something else that was not up to par. If a man's righteousness comes by the law, Jesus died in vain.

Perhaps your family think of you as self-righteous because of the way you carry urself around people. Whatever you believe in, that's great, but don't push your beliefs on other people who are not ready to accept them yet. If you want to be first then you should be last, if you want to be a leader, then be a servant first.

Just be careful on how you conduct your search in God. Sometimes when people seek God, they seek Him according to their own way. When things don't go according to their expectations, frustration follows and lead to blaming God for their mistakes.

Good luck in your search for God. your patience will be tested up and down.

Only God is perfect. No one can be perfect, but this is what we are extorted many times to try to be. TRY is the important thing.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast what thou hast, that no man take your crown (salvation). -Revelation 3:11. If you could be perfect, why would Jesus say these things?
Your family may sense self-righteousness in your private interpretation.

One can be perfect if the are pure in heart. but one must also be able to stand up to all kinds of things.
One must be willing to give up everything, they have grown to know. One must be able to live in the cold without shelter.
Or sleep in the hot sun without shade.
One must go hungry, to strengthen ones soul.
One must praise God 24 hours a day non stop. One must give thanks for everyhing, and anything, that is give to them.
One must be able to walk in the shoes as Jesus did. If you want to be perfect in everyway. You say " you will walk as Jesu did one in your lifetime." What is holding you back?
But one can not say,
What will tomorrow will bring, or not. As it says. "One is here today , and gone tommorrow.

You just did another question. :D Again, I think you need to be careful of your attitude. Don;t worry about anyone else, just focus on what you are doing. Be careful to not get a puffed up attitude, that drives people away.

You aren't trying to prove anything, you are trying to set an example with love. Just keep working on it. :)
