Actually most Satanists follow LaVeyan Satanism which is the opposite of theistic Christianity. In other words it is an atheistic philosophy and has ethics similar to Ayn Rand's Objectivism, but also rituals which generally serve as psychodrama and fun.
Obviously most atheists are not Satanists. Atheism only describes what one does NOT believe in. LaVeyan Satanism is one of many different branches. Others include Objectivism (which supports laissez-faire capitalism), modern humanism, naturalistic or scientific pantheism, orthodox Marxism, etc.
These should help:

First off it is a unintelligent person that would put satanist and atheist together. satanist actually believe in a god and their god would be satan, where as atheist( and pay attention with your ears holes and not your @ss's one.) don't believe in any type of gods or goddesses.
FYI: If you are a part of that super theist group now wonder god had to be created to allow for an easy curve.
added details: I do apologize I did not know that you have a limited mastery of the English language and you chose to use it to to muster up an insult on the United States in general. So, let me correct you it was the fundies that elected Bush into office and it was not the groups you choose to target with the insult.

Our ancestors came to the USA to escape religious persecution no matter what their belief systems were. That still stands today. We reserve the right to believe in whatever we want to, even if its nothing.

what is it to you? the first amendment grants everyone freedom of religion. if they choose to worship satan, or not worship at all, who are you to put down their decision? it is none of your business.
