NORTHPOLESUX: Not I am not profitting from the war, nor is anyother military family member. The only way we profit is to have our loved one come home alive, so there for in the way YEAH i did profit. My brother came home safe. And my hearts go out to all the ones who lost their loved ones. My family is so fortunate.
And as for the rest of you who think i'm silly or stupid for posting this: My "theory" on supporting the war came from my brother and lots of other soldiers. I used to be like you, I hated the war, I thought that every soldier needed to come home too, until one day, my brother called me from Iraq. And after he had got done telling me about a horrid encounter he had just had, i "crying" told him its time Bush got his head out of his a s s and bring them home. Man did i get jumped. He said that if that is how we all feel here in the states, then what in the H E L L are they fighting for. He said, along with others, that they need our support on the war also.

So Just to let you know, this isn't something that i made up to start fights here with ppl. I'm just spreading the thoughts, words and feeling of soldiers like my brother, and all of the others that had told me the same thing.
Think about it. Saying you support our soldiers, but not their job
is like saying you can't live without toilet paper, but don't support the cutting down of trees.
Ok i know i'm going to get ripped into for that one, but thats the only thing that came into my head.
Not supporting the war that our soldiers are fighting for, and remind you a lot of them joined even after they knew they would fight the war in Iraq, and not supporting the decisions Bush makes is what you want to call un-american.
Did you ever think that for one minute, he isn't pulling out the troops because its the troops he is listening to. Not us who are sitting here and telling him its time to bring them home.
The soldiers say there is more to do, and its not time to come home.

Oh and to you who are anti-war and think its just for oil. Go up to a soldier who's been there, and fought. And you tell him that you support him, but you don't support the fact that all he is doing is fighting for oil!!! If you do that, then I guess we'de all be seeing you in the hospital, cuz i have a feeling if you were to do so to a soldier like my brother, thats where he would put you.

So willow, are you what 12? Cuz you sound like you don't support our troops at all. It sounds like you are going along with the flow because if you don't, someone may look down on you. You are the first person that has a loved one in the war spit out hateful words as you have. Are you sure you aren't just saying that you do, to make your self sound important. I had neighbors that lost a son in the war, and they still talk the same way i do. In fact almost everyone i know from where i am living, who has had family fighting, feel the way i do. And why? Because of what our loved one tell us how they feel. How it makes them feel when they hear someone say it's time to come home NOW. So either, we're bred differently here then you are from where ever you are from, or you are just that cold hearted and selfish. Not sure, let me think on that for awhile and i'll get back to you.
Oh and if you really do have a loved one in the war, i'm sorry and i'll pray for their safe return.

Thank you for posting that video. My grandpa sent it to me not long ago. It gives me chills and brings tears to my eyes again.

I miss my husband so much and I am so proud of how well our children have handled this. After the first month my 3y/o refused to talk to her daddy when he called because she figured she did something wrong and he was mad at her. My 6y/o told the neighbor about a month ago that he died because she couldn't figure out why else he wouldn't want to be home with us. But these are really the only times they've lost it about him. My 3y/o now tells people "Daddy go on airplane go another country."

my fiancee is fighting this oil war (yeah, i said it). Is losing your brother really worth all of this?

And as a matter of fact I know MANY soldiers that are against this war!!! They just cant say or do anything. They cant even say nasty things about our dumba** of a president, they get in trouble. We dont have a volunteer army!

I support the troops. I think every last one of them should be brought home ALIVE!!!

It's so sad to me that you feel this way. YOU are the reason that good men and women like your brother are dying for nothing! NOTHING!! NOTHING!!!!!! This administration has lied to you from the word go and you just eat it up. Ask a mother that has lost her son, who'll never be able to hug her baby again, if this war was worth it.

Good video. And, yes I support the mission and the war and I love Bush. The rest who say they can support the troops but not the war are noobs-if you don't support the job that they are doing; then you don't support them much do you-because that is what their job is and what THEY support?....You just talk out of your a s s. America has to be the "police" no one will stand up,-except us. You'll say thanks in the years to come, when you realize this. And, people die, each and ever day-the troops that died ,. knew going in it was all all voluntary type of job and knew that the there could be a chance when they go to an assignment, they might never return-it's the military for crying out loud-death is inevitable.

That's a good video. Everyone should watch it.

Hate the war all you want, but SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! Instead of coming up with theories on why the war is wrong, turn all that energy into sending our troops care packages, letters, prayers, love, and gratitude. Remember they are fighting for us too.

Okay, let me see if I can figure this one out...

Death, killing, and maiming, bad...
Life and loving, good...

Did I leave anything out...?

Actually, I support our soldiers, because the job they volunteered for is honorable, noble, and dangerous...
I just wish our President had figured out a way to prevent it...and hopefully not have to use our brave soldiers services for this kind of situation...
I'm with those guys all the way, now that they're there, and I thank them...and I hope they come home safe...

My answer to a previous question along the same lines:
"The reason I am against the war is simple. 1991 Gulf War George Bush Senior & John Major, went with the backing of all the Arab countries. What George Senior didn't do was pursue Saddam back then.

George Dubya & Tony Blair, decided to take Saddam out, they didn't wait for the backing of the Arab nations.

If it is for Oil, then it is only a face saver. The Oil companies and their Governments have already found the solution to Oil supplies running out. Its just a case of waiting until they run out. And then the new Miracle fuel will go on sale. And probably cost twice as much as oil, and yet will be produced at half the cost!!

We must RESPECT AND SUPPORT our armed forces. BUT it is the politicians who send them to places such as Iraq, we may not always agree with our governments, but as a nation we have voted for them, and we have to live with that.

Melissa - as long as our troops are there - I fully and wholeheartedly support this war. That is our patriotic duty as Americans. To voice opposition is to give hope and solace to the enemies of the United States and that is defined as treason. Our service members are a national treasure and need and deserve our support. Those acting out and saying bad things are just like those who opposed the Vietnam War. They have been proven wrong - and proven to have helped the enemy. These people are despicable. Our troops deserve better.

Support the soldiers, not the president. We went to Iraq without UN approval, found no WMDs, the country didn't have anything to do with 9/11, American and British soldiers are dying for a pointless war that needs to end.

Every attempt to end the war was vetoed by Bush, so the only way we leave is when he leaves.

Don't vote for a pro-war candidate in 2008. Everyone doesn't want to see our soldiers die, and everyone is sick of the daily news reports from Iraq.
