It can take up to 6 months to get a response or a receipt. Don't know when they will ever get up to snuff on this subject. The last 2 times they increased the fees, it was to supposedly increase their response times to people and speed up the process. This has not happened yet and with the increases set to go into effect now which is supposedly to do the same thing yet again, we'll all wait and see.

There is a bit of a lag in the various service centers when it comes to issuing the notice of receipt. You can read more about it here
