The Muslim woman who is covered for the sake of God is amongst the best dressed women on the planet!
While those who show themselves in various states, do it be attractive to men.
Its obvious which one is better.
Muslim women should also remember that whist they are wearing Hijab on, they are in a state of worship and will be rewarded for such. More than men in this case.

It is your choice to wear it and you should be allowed to unless there is some LEGITIMATE (not invented) reason like safety. But as for debating about your oppression I can't even debate about the Muslim teachings because I can't speak Arabic. I have been told that there are no translations are reliable and it must be read in the Arabic language to get the proper meaning.
In many Christian churches the women wear scarfs etc so this isn't much of opression but it is only the muslim religion that the women have to be covered from head to toe and even the eye slots sheilded. There is also the issues of Sharia law, the number of wives a man can have and the honour killings that occur regularly if a woman disobeys and forced arranged marriages. Those I would consider opression myself.

Sister I think the reason some people think Muslim women are oppressed is because anytime they see a picture of a Muslim woman it's always in a Muslim country and the women is in the corner of a roo while her husband is standing over her with something ready to hit her. I think that because the news doesn't show how Muslim women are really treated in Islam and just shows what they want people to see that they soon get used to thinking that all Muslim women are treated like that.

Because Nuns choose to, ( Though I'm not saying some muslim women don;t also choose to) In many places around the world Muslim women are forced to wear burkas on threat of death..... I'm not saying that you for example are opressed I'm saying that those it is forced upon are.

I always liked the way muslim woman are covered. I answered this before. Like you said, the nuns cover up. I bet alot of christians do not know why they should cover there hair. They don't know why because the pastors do not know how to teach. I wonder if nuns even know? Its talked about in 1 Cor 11:3-9. Woman should cover there hair as they pray to God.

I'm glad that you wear it out of freedom of choice, however not all muslim women are granted that right. In many Islamic countries women are forbidden to take off their headscarfs in public. Sometimes they're even beaten for it. In other words, you don't represent all muslim women.

First of all Nuns Worship the "Real" Most High God!
The God of Light!!
The doctrine of covering of Muslim women comes straight out of the pit of darkness!
This did not come down from the "Real" God because the "Real" God did not tell Muhammed to be a messenger.
The "Real" most high God did not tell 54 year old Muhammed to have sexual intercourse with a 9 year old Child!! (Aiesa)
The "Real" God does not condone "Child Molseting"!!!

Look at these pictures of Muslim women and Christian women and judge for yourself what comes from the pit of hell and what doesn't!

It's lack of understanding education, knowledge. I felt the same way until I end up having a job and my boss was a Muslim woman. She was one of the smartest most inspirational person I have ever met in my life. I'm christian and in this religion muslims are looked down on a lot. It irritates me sometime because instead of asking questions we judge. I only knew what I was taught about muslims until i met her.

What would happen to a Muslim woman who, for reasons of her own, decided not to cover her head in public? THAT'S oppression. People who freely choose to conform aren't the ones who are oppressed. It's those Muslim women who would prefer not to wear a headscarf, but who wear one out of fear of consequenses who are oppressed. Christian nuns have choosen their path freely and are not oppressed. Muslim women, like you, who freely choose to wear a headscarf are not oppressed. The ones who are oppressed are those who would prefer not to conform, but who must conform for fear of the social, legal, or religious consequences.

The difference is, women aren't born nuns. Those women are not born into the sisterhood, but Muslim women are born into the practice.
