It's only common sense, as you said water weighs a lot so if you drink a lot of water you will be heavier. But it is not fat! It is only temporary anyway. You need to drink a lot to flush your system of toxins and to keep hydrated. It makes you feel fuller too, so you don't eat as much. Trust me, when you diet water is your friend. Forget what the scale says, go by the mirror and measure your abdomen. I have gained weight while losing inches in my waist.

Actually I read that you are suppose to take your weight and divide that in half. That is how many oz of water you are to consume. That is the amount of water to keep your body functioning properly. I know it's a lot. And be careful because too much water CAN KILL YOU. And anyway..it's HARD to consume that much water. But as you begin to drink more water, your body will get use to it and begin to release the excess salt that holds water and you won't feel so heavy. With regard to raising your metobolism, try eating 5 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones. IE. Breakfast. Veggie omlet. Snack, piece of fruit, Lunch, 2 oz of turkey, 1/4 cup of brown rice, 1 cup of veggies, Snack, Fruit salad, Dinner, chicken and veggie cabob, small potato, etc. This KEEP your metabolism raised. And limit your sugar intake. Fruits are naturally sweet. Try and stay away from fruit juice. Too much sugar will spike your insulin levels and throw it off. Keeping your sugar levels, level will help you loose weight. Oh yeah...and keep moving. Exercise. If you don't want to do it formally, go for a short walk on lunch, send your print jobs to the printer furthest away from you. Get up and go talk to people instead of sending emails. Do some stretching throughout the day. Take the stairs instead of the escalator or the elevator. Just start or continue to MOVE. Oh and don't call it a diet. Good luck!

Key phrase... "increases your metabolism" meaning it gets everything out. It doesn't just sit in your stomach. If you are drinking the full 64 oz of water per day, you will be going to the bathroom a lot more than if you don't drink it. Water is the key. And green tea definitely helps weight loss. I drink a cup every morning. It is very good for you.

water flushes water weight out of your body and salt that makes you retain water. to raise your metabolism, exercise first thing in the morning, before breakfast. eat 5-6 small meals a day. you don't have to drink 8 glasses a day because some water is in the foods you eat, like fruits and vegetables. drink as much as you can.

1) eight glasses of water only weigh about 2 kilograms. If you yourself weigh more than 50 KG - you will not "feel" any heavier because of that! Probably you are feeling BLOATED because of EDEMA .. and you should consult a doctor about that!!
2) The BEST way to speed up your metabolism is to EXERCISE!

Water is necessary to health in a lot of ways. I'm not going to go through them all here.
It does not increase your metabolism.
Yes water is relatively heavy, but you pee out any excess in an hour or two, so drinking water does not make you heavier.

It also helps you eliminate the food that would otherwise be hanging around in your body.
And the 8 glasses rule is sometimes misinterpreted; your glasses may be too big. It's 8 ounces per glass--8 ounces equals one cup, not a huge amount.
