I heard that there are foods that burn more calories than they contain. Which specific foods are these? How many calories does each of them burn?

lettuce and celery. it takes more calories to chew than what you'll get from eating them. i'm not sure how many each one burns.

There's really no such thing as a negative calorie food. There's 0 calorie food which they are coyly terming as 'negative calorie' to build hype. Examples are lettuce, onions, spinach, garlic, zucchini, green beans, carrots, green cabbage, papayas, radishes, hot chili peppers, celery root/chicory, cauliflower, endives, turnips, tangerines, strawberries, grapefruit, cranberries, apples, beets, asparagus, cucumber, dandelion, garden cress and lemon mango (that i can think off the top of my head). Anything that is 0 calories will automatically take more energy to eat. Even 0 calorie soda is a negative calorie food. And the amount of calories burnt when you're eating a meal? Less than 100. It's all hype. Don't fall into it.

You wouldn't want to base a weight loss program on this. All it really means is things like celery and lettuce have virtually no nutritional value, thus you can eat as much of them as you like without worrying about calories. The 'negative' value involved in chewing is so small as to be negligible.

Green peppers, cabbage, and celery are some. Type in negative calorie foods in your search engine. You should be able to find a list somewhere.
