how to fit a philips remote to a sharp tv?

i just got a 1998 sharp tv and i want to keep the same remote from my old tv it is a philips/magnavox how can i change this remote to fit my old tv thanks

Unless that remote is a universal remote you can't. Brand specific remotes usually do not have the ability to transmit codes for other brands of tv sets. They only have the codes to work with the TV set they are mated to. Sorry

I found these 4-digit codes for Sharp Tvs : 0093, 0039, 0165, 0688, 0689.
`Here are some 3-digit codes : 011, 020, 025,027,037, 052, 053, 059, 060. Hope one of those works to program that universal remote to your Sharp TV.
