Yes, as long as you are careful and smart. I met my husband through Match.com, and my friend married someone she met on Yahoo personals. Just don't give out identifying info until you are positive you're not dealing with a looney tunes and when and if you do meet, make sure to take your own car and meet in a public place, and let a friend know what you're up to. A lot of folks are not entirely honest in personals, so just make sure to read between the lines and be cautious.

I tried Yahoo Personals, Lavalife, Match.com and some other site that I can't remember. I met some real characters. I'm still single by the way, so you know what that means. None of the sites worked for me. The guys that I had the biggest connections with didn't live anywhere near me. Go figure.

That depends on whether or not your date is honest in his postings. I have met quite a few people on there and dated a couple 1 of them while we shared the same personality we are now just friends, emailing back and forth cause I work to much to sit here all day. Thank God today is my day off

I tried Yahoo Personals without success. I am a man. Every girl who answered my contact turned out to be a scammer. The most popular scam was that the woman was actually stuck in Africa and needed money to get back home. I hope you have better luck. But be careful so you don't get scammed.

I met someone just recently on Yahoo Personals. I was a paying member for just under one month. We've seen each other four times, and I really think she's a keeper.

Sorry, don't have any experience with Y!personals. You might be able to become less shy if you go online into chat rooms or get a male email pal. It might work, good luck. reply if you like

umm...it's not the best way to meet someone. there's no point in being shy, because if you meet someone and you don't like them then who cares, you'll never seem them again, i don't think meeting someone online is the best things, but give it a shot? it may be effective
