Do any of you think about the families that would be ripped apart if every illegal were to be sent back? All the children who would lose their mothers or fathers? My stepson is without his real mother (a white American citizen) right now because she is locked up in federal prison for trying to smuggle 70 kilos of cocaine over the border. His father and I are all this little boy has right now. If his father did get sent back to Mexico, where would the child go? Foster care? Just another face in the system? Before people round up their mobs and torches and go immigrant hunting, think about the innocent victims in all of this. And for a country who is supposed to be all about family values.....

Some people seem to have misunderstood me. In no way am I condoning what the mother did. In fact I hope the crazy ***** rots in prison for what she did. She never even tought her son the colors or how to hold a pencil.
Also, when does crossing the border (albeit illegally) put you in the same category as murderers and rapists??? Just like our ancestors (who did not have papers or greencards, either) thay are trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Don't ALL people who break the law risk being ripped away from their families?

Did you ever think about all the families that are ripped apart when someone goes to jail? Should we then just stop jailing people who commit crimes. After all, it breaks up families. These people came here with the full knowledge that what they were doing was against the law and that if they were caught any number of consequences could ensue. In spite of that, they made they choice to come here AND have families. I'm sorry, I don't feel sorry for what they knew was a possibility.

well, um - I am a white American citizen married with a son to an immigrant. EXCEPT he is a LEGAL immigrant and we have paid $$$$ thousands in fees and waited years....we paid every last cent of our taxes and signed legal documents with the US govt that we would never seek Medicaid or unemployment or welfare (I am his sponsor so its my duty to support him). We had to go through grueling interviews and show massive amounts of documentation. Years later, they are still doing a 'background check' on a man who never even jay walked or farted sideways.
So I don't have any mercy for druggies, smugglers, terrorists, tax evaders, illegal immigrants, gangsters, or sex offenders....or for that matter - anyone bad in general.
My ancestors fought and died in countless wars to make this country a better one to live in from the one they originated from.
What contributions have the illegal immigrants made?
They are coming here in the guise of night and breaking our laws. They have babies we have to pay for...and then those babies go to school that (again) we pay for. Then they get free medical care- which again we pay for. Then they get old and again we pay for their care when they are infirm. When they break the law- again we pay for their incarceration. When they molest and rape - we can't track them because they aren't traceable. They don't pay into Social Security, Medicare, or State/Federal taxes. They even make our car insurance go up by driving uninsured. They have made us include their language in our everyday life (funny how we don't have Hindi or Polish or Italian or German as second languages- all of OUR ancestors assimilated.)
AND on top of all that.....there's 12 million of them demanding amnesty!
When the current system cannot clear LEGAL immigrants like my husband---how are they going to check and clear 12 million?!!
Please someone tell me...I'm REALLY curious.
And as far as family values- anytime you try and tell someone how a 'family should be' or family values...you end up not being politically correct, offending people, and getting sued.

And speaking of "family values" - why don't you, the child, AND the husband go over to Mexico? Then nobody will be separated and the problem is solved. The further the kid gets from the mother - probably the better off he will be as she sounds like a lousy parent and a poor excuse for an American.

So there you go- 5 star answer.

You are a typical Liberal. I am a hater because I don't agree with you. I am a hater because I live in a country that says it is a "Nation of Laws" and I expect them to be enforced. I have compassion for people, but I try to think with my head and not my heart.

I did not put these people in this position, they did it to themselves. They knew that sneaking over the border was against the law and they choose to do it anyway. I understand why they did it, but the fact remains that it is against the law in just about every Country on the Globe.

Why do you not call Mexico haters for their treatment of illegals from Central America. We are outright sweet compared to what Mexico does. In Mexico they quickly arrest them and deport them and they don't care what the circumstance is that brought them.

These illegals put themselves here and they are responsible for their actions. Why are they not held responsible for their actions? Why should America shoulder the burden of a country like Mexico ? Why should we pay the check for Mexico and take all of their population in?

We should be deporting all of them. We should make an example for future law breakers. We need to send a message that we don't want you here unless you follow the rules to achieve your goal. That is fair.

I stop thinking about credibility once the LAW IS BROKEN! You should of thought about that before YOU BROKE THE LAW!

"real mother (a white American citizen) right now because she is locked up in federal prison for trying to smuggle 70 kilos of cocaine over the border"

ENOUGH SAID FOR YOU LAW BREAKERS!. If those 70 kilos had of made it to our borders....how many of our other citizens would of been impacted by your what ever????

IL-legal and just want your butt's out of our country. PERIOD!

How about taking some reasonably for ones actions. The little boy could stay with you, or would you rather saddle the tax's payers with the cost of social service than make a point that we are mean selfish people. Why are family values are only important on the USA side of the border. When illegals leave families behind that is acceptable, but when they are called to account for their illegal behavior, they fall back on the family ties. Nice touch about the American, white mother that is a doing time, is that just to remind us that we not only heartless and but criminals as well.

Sorry, they should have thought about that before they lived here illegally. If families are split up,the illegal has no one to blame but themselves. They made the choice to break the law,and unfortunately, their family is the one that will suffer.

So you think it's great to have illegals in our country using working American Citizens' tax dollars to get medical care, housing and food and of course let's not forget Social Security benefits??? That's great...let's just toss our hard earned paychecks up in the air for all the illegals to drive new cars and live in nice homes while our true American citizens struggle to pay their bills with the money they make working LEGALLY in OUR COUNTRY! There are too many American Citizens that have to chose between their medications or food, food or gas to drive to work or even food or electricity while illegals are sucking up all the benefits that should be for the US Citizens that need and deserve them. Personally, my family is not wealthy and we do not get any type of government assistance. We have to pay for our medical insurance and co-pays and the bills that follow. We pay for our food, utilities, house and cars. We pay for it because we work legally in the U.S.A. and are U.S. citizens born and raised. It's not fair for our salaries to be taken from us to support people that don't belong in our country. If we break the law, we go to jail. If they break the law, why are they not punished??? As for the children suffering...take them with you back to where you came from!

The parents are the ones that are criminals and saw fit to furnish their progeny with that kind of life. Illegals are illegals and criminals are criminals. They get what they deserve, and I have no sympathy for them.

The illegal bastard that raped, tortured and murdered my friend didn't give a **** about the impact on her 7 year old daughter.
Why should I care what happens to their kids?

2007-05-31 10:25:27 · answer #9 · answered by tiny Valkyrie 7 · 3 0

I don't mean to sound callous, but that is the risk one assumes when they choose to cross a border without proper documentation. OF COURSE I feel really bad for the kids involved - they can't help their parents' actions. But, the fact is, no one is forcing people into our country at gunpoint. If a person chooses to break a law, then they better be willing to face the consequences of their actions. And, shouldn't a mother be more worried about the welfare of her child than smuggling cocaine? It seems to me that was a choice she made. Maybe you should see if you can get legal guardianship of this child?
