You pour it in a glass with ice, raise it to your lips, and...hey, you didn't mean the birds, did you? If you raise them, you're raising domestic, not wild, turkeys.

Food and a warm dry place. I assume you found the bird. A wild bird will indeed require a permit, however " wild " turkeys
can be purchased from commercial hatceries and do not require permits. The most common strain of wild turkey I have seen available is Rio Grande. The are raised by game clubs and private land owners to be released for hunting.

If you live in the US, you would need the proper permits to keep wild turkeys. Since they are a game bird, they would require different permits than many other types of native birds, such as song birds.

I agree with the person who said check with the game warden.

Well farm raised sometimes have hormones well as the wild turkeys do not have hormones. I always like to get wild instead of the farm raised because I think its safer. Hope this helps!
