Pastor Billy says: TG give it a rest. The question is tongue-n-cheek. Contrary to what you think and the inappropriate way in which you use scripture, the authority of the Pope as the steward of Christ's Church is mentioned in the bible numerous times. Try thinking about the little girl not your personal gripe with Catholic Church doctrine and the Catholic biblical interpretative tradition. Fact is TG I know no other (Christian) religious leader in the world that can speak for so many people and make others stop and listen. Your envy is obvious, your juvenile denials are apparent.

And where in the Bible does it say the Pope is God's #1 man??? Last time I checked, Jesus is the head of the church and our mediator for God. The Pope has no authority in the Bible.

"For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." Ephesians 5:23

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"
1 Timothy 2:5

One would like to think that God would have been protecting her in ther first place.

Not much of a god if he can't protect one innocent 3-year old from the stupidity and negligence of her parents.

No...it doesn't work that way.

But the Pope's prayers and blessing should help her parents quite a bit.
