How Do You help one of your best friends who is struggling with bulimia for the second time in 2 years?

I believe the reason would be that her boyfriend that she is madly in love with broke up with her just recently.

my other best friend says that this is just a cry for attention.

Either way, bulimia can kill her and telling her that won't work because thats the reason she stopped in eighth grade.

Please help. I hate seeing her this way. It's not like she has to lose weight anyway...she only 100 pounds.

You cannot effectively help her, she needs professional help and it is a long process. If it is bulimia she never stopped struggling with it, but an emotional event could trigger a recurrance of the worst behaviors, especially if she is as immature as this sounds (from the reason you gave). Until she is ready for help and seeks it from a professional all you can do is watch, unfortunately.

Her family has to do an intervention......and most of the time eating disorders take time in an Inpatient Clinic for Eating Disorders. They can contact someone at one of these clinics to help them.

Make an anonymous call to her parent(s) who may not know of their daughter's problem. Alternatively, see your school guidance counselor. He/she will know what steps to take, and you may not have to be the one who alerts the parents.

tell her she is unhealthy, too skinny, and if she doesn't want to look like a zombie pirate from pirates of the caribbean than she needs to keep her food down. and, malnutririon can cause her hair to fall out, and she can have her skin shrivel up.

You can't help them. The only way to help her is to get her to counciling immediatly before she gets to involved.
