No, because I am religious and I am very open minded.
Close minded people believe in stupid stereotypes like this one.

I am sorry but I do not. It has become popular to say...hey anything goes. But everyone draws the line somewhere.
Without boundaries were would you draw your line? What would be acceptable to you. For example, would sex between a man and 10 year old boy be allowed if the boy agrees?
If not why?
Currently it is against the law for people to defecate in public. If the person defecates into a bucket in a bus and cleans up after him self, is this OK with you?
Why?
Because you say so? What makes your rules better then a religious person's views?
Societies without a strong moral compass have always failed though out history. Greed, violence, lust has weakened many civilizations int he past and they now lay in the dust bins of history.
Having a strong religious conviction does not make one a narrow thinker.

Closed minded is just an insult. People on both sides have studied both science and religion and have drawn conclusions based on some passionate convictions. Those conclusions leave people closed minded on both sides for specific reasons. Many don't want to believe because they cannot identify with a God like the God of the Bible whether or not there is evidence that validates faith in Him. I happen to be in favor of Christianity and I believe my presuppositions for my faith are valid, logical, and have more rational integrity then the irreligious and pantheistic belief systems. So passionate convictions whether right or wrong doesn't mean people are close minded.

Nope. I'm very religious, but I love learning other points of view and hearing what other people have to say. I keep an open mind most of the time and my views have certainly changed over the years, (the exception of my open-mindedness being towards those who screech at me that I'm going to hell). Of course, I realize that there are plenty of religiously devote who aren't so openmided, and I find them embarrassing or scary. They can do a lot of harm to our society.

I believe that this is how it is, but obviously not how it should be.
I believe in someone having a strong passion for something, but when individuals admit that something else may be correct, they feel as if they have betrayed their beliefs. Religion, I believe to some people, is an escape because they are afraid. Afraid of life, life after death, etc. and if you are religious, then you are "saved."

"the more religious" a person is, isn't a good way to describe someone...
For me, a person who is strong in their Christian faith, I welcome a debate or conversation discussing all aspects of my religion. I also enjoy learning things every day and never try and act in a close minded way. I am very curious about other things that people believe and why. It helps me solidify my beliefs.

I have met some open minded religious people, I myself have faith in god and try to always keep an open mind. But when you say open mind does that mean I have to agree with everyone else?
I also happen to notice that Atheists are not open minded often, especially when talking in here on R&S.

Yes, because the the closer you get to the truth, that's what it is. How many different ways can you get an A on a test? If you went into your math class on got all the answer wrong, would you pass? There is only one way for truth. If something Red it can not be blue.

No. There are many religious people that are open minded. There are many non-religious people who are close minded and visa-versa.To say that a person is close-minded because they are religious is generalizing and, well, close minded.

Far as I can see "being religious" means just accepting whatevery dogma happened to come your way. Those people become extremely closed minded. People who really look for God seem open to love and accept everyone
