The police take mandatory drug tests - they get fired if they don't pass.
Your question might be easier to answer if you could form it into some sentences.

Before you go on a rant, you probably should check your facts. The fact is that most police ARE subject to mandatory drug tests. What made you think they didn't? And if you think that cops get a slap on the wrist for committing crimes, then you haven't been reading the news enough. Seems like some law enforcement officer or another is getting thrown into jail pretty much every day. All that said, I am curious to why you suddenly decided that policemen don't have consequences like the rest of us, because it simply isn't true.

Police DO have to take drug tests. They have mandatory random drug tests. They also have to complete background investigations, in my case even a polygraph test, plus blood and urine testing before hired. As for them not paying, as a matter of course, a police officer charged with a crime receives much more punishment than a civilian. Some police officers dont deserve to be a police officers but the problem comes back to money. The agencies dont have the pick of who they want as many people cant afford to be a police officer. Therefore the agencies get a few people who want to do the job because its a calling and these people do a fantastic job. But, unfortunately, alot of the people who apply are idiots. The complete idiots are normally a no hire but they do have to draw the line somewhere. Therefore there are officers out there acting like morons and doing things they shouldnt be. Until people are willing to dig in their pockets for a pay raise, youre going to have to put up with the idiots masquerading as police officers.

Yes, Police Officers have to pee in a cup just like everyone else from time to time.
Other than that, the rest of your "Question" is more like an anti-Police Officer screed than a question.
Do we get treated differently? Yeah, in lots of cases. If you have an accident in say a shopping mall parking lot, not much will happen to you. If a Police Officer does it, he/she gets suspended without pay!
It goes both ways.

Actually, police are held to a pretty high standard in most instances. How many trucking companies have internal affairs? Ans. None. If cops screw up, they do get investigated and even prosecuted. They are polygraphed, tested, investigated.
Truck drivers have to take a drug test because they are driving a multi-thousand pound killing machine if they are impaired...

I feel bad for the officers that are in our drug squad. Every time they turn around someone is shoving a cup in their face for them to pee in. They get checked once a week on average. Though sometimes more. One guy got checked twice in a day
Everyone else gets them occasionally. Maybe twice a year. Though they are manditory if the officer is involved in an accident or shotting.
