Jesus was fully God and fully man. There is only one God, but there are three aspects of God... Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Think of water... it can be ice, liquid, or water vapor.
A rainbow is one bow, but there are many colors...
A three leaf clover has three distinct leaves, but they are all one clover.
It's kinda hard to understand, and I don't really understand it totally.

The Christian God is a triune God. Jesus submitted to do the Fathers will which means He would not use His full power and authority as God on Earth but that He would use them in a limited way to testify of God. The Bible says He performed many miracles, signs, and wonders. The Jewish historian Josephus wrote that Jesus performed over 10.000 miraculous deeds.
Many of the "contradictions" people have a problem with; can be solved in understanding the Trinity. That three persons of the Trinity are all God and yet God is in essence one Being. Just like the united states makes up one nation. Jesus is the only unique God-Man and that is why his substitutionary death, burial, and resurrection are unique and important to a believer.

A taker!

Jesus was God. He knew He was God. He was all knowing, too. Look at Peter and the rooster the night He was taken.

Now you have Jesus on the hill, He is praying. Think about it for a second. Jesus is praying to who? God. This is where the trinity comes in. He prays and says that He is in God, and God in Him; in the Trinity, the three are one. It is not a concept we can understand, just the same, though, the Bible teaches it.

Okay, it seems you know enough to know that He prayed in the Garden, to His Father!

Remember, God, the Father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit. Three in one!

Yes, Jesus was God in the flesh but, only one part of God! God is comprised of the three! Like an egg...it has the shell, the yoke and the white....yet, it is one entity!

When Jesus came, He gave up His deity to enter into this world as you and I did! He did not have to do it but, He did!!

I hope this gives you more understanding!

Jesus said of Himself that He was God. He applied the name of God, "I AM," (See Exodus 3:14) to Himself in several passages. Here's a few examples: Matthew 14:27, Mark 6:50, Mark 13:6, Luke 21:8, John 4:26, John 6:20, John 8:24, 28, 58, and John 13:19. There are several others I have not listed. (Note, the I AM passages I referred to are from the Greek, as the English translations often mistranslate I AM for "It is I" or "I am He," to allow for readability.)

Another angle to pursue is the various Scriptures that demonstrate that God's attributes are present in Jesus as well as the Holy Spirit. For example, the Father is eternal (Psalm 90:2), and so is the Son (John 1:2), and so is the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 9:14). Another shared attribute is their holiness. Only God is truly holy. The Father is holy (Revelation 15:4), so is the Son (Acts 3:14), and so is the Spirit (Acts 1:8).

Next, Jesus received worship, which is only for God:

"Then the men in the boat began to worship Jesus, saying, "You certainly are the Son of God!" (Matthew 14:33)

"Suddenly Jesus met them and said, "Greetings!" They went up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him." (Matthew 28:9)

"They worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy." (Luke 24:52)

"He said, "Lord, I do believe," and worshiped him." (John 9:38)

"I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lamb be praise, honor, glory, and power forever and ever!" Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped." (Revelation 5:13-14)

Lastly, Jesus forgave sins. The Pharisees were correct when they asked, "Who can forgive sins but God alone?" (Mark 2:7) And yet Jesus did that several times.

Jesus was God the Son. However God the Father was still in heaven. One word: Trinity

Jesus was God as all life is God. God is not some man on a throne riding clouds. God is the energy that makes up all living things. Jesus was just a very self aware man. This is my take on it but if it doesn't work for you that's cool. Keep looking till you find what does work.

Jesus was praying to the Father, who is also part of the God head's triune nature....Jesus knew exactly who he was...and the Jewish rulers attempted to stone him for what they believed to be blasphemy..."That you being a man, make yourself to be God"

Other examples are: Jesus said to him, "...He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say, `Show us the Father?'" John 14:9

God was manifest in the flesh... 1 Timothy 3:16

But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever... Hebrews 1:8

Thomas answered and said to Him [Jesus], "My Lord and my God!" John 20:28

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which translated means, "God with us." Matthew 1:23
...to Christ. For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, Colossians 2:9

the Trinity concept. Jesus Christ, though a man, was still subject to human rules. one spiritual rule for humans is that you are not directly connected to God. spirits have to connect. So Jesus had to use His human spirit to communicate with God (talking to the Holy Spirit), and this is done by prayer. Jesus was praying to God the Father. He operated as God the Son Himself.

Here's where it gets tricky - depends on who you talk to, even within Christianity.

Some of the Trinity people might argue that Jesus wasn't fully aware of his godliness until he died and was resurrected, or that he was somehow separated from God during his human existance.

But there are some sects of Christianity that don't believe in the trinity, or the oneness of Jesus and God. Some think Jesus was a special human "adopted" by God to be the messiah. Some think Jesus was God's son, but a separate and lesser entity, not one with God.

In the Bible in Matthew chapter 1 verse 23 states Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is God with us. See God was in Jesus so when we see Jesus, we see God. Because he was God only begotton son. For ex sample when people look at me they see my earthly dad to, Because I look allot like my dad. So Jesus was praying to his Father in heaven not to himself.
