Though Israel controls the land, it gave the Muslims control over all of their holy places. The Waqf controls the Temple Mount because their mosque is there. In response to an earlier poster, the Israelis were fixing a ramp that was damaged by weather so nobody died when the ramp eventually collapsed. The Muslims rioted because they thought the evil Jews were trying to damage the mosque....even though the Israelis installed 24/hr cameras on the site so every Muslim in the world could watch the work being done...

The temple mount is a big place. Huge. Amazingly huge, actually. It is controlled in different places by different people.
The Moslems control the Dome of the Rock, which is at one end of the mount itself. The other end - the wailing wall, belongs to the Jews.
There is this beleif that all Jews and All Moslems hate one another. It isn't true. The Jewish people in Jersulem would no more want to see the Dome of the rock damaged then they want to see Adam Sandler made Prime Minister. Nor do the Islamic factions want to destroy the Wailing Wall. They respect each other's holy places at least that much.

Palistain I think, I did here that they were planning or attempting to rebuild the temple for a 3rd time. I think it was on the Discovery Channel a couple of days ago.

God has control over the mount. The Amalekites (palestinians) THINK they are in control, but they will soon see that God will stand for His people. They (PLO) are being allowed make mischief that will only get them destroyed.

Currently, technically, Palestine. The Israeli government recently had to do some kind of work there, though I can't remember what for, and every Palestinian group threw fits over it. I suppose they were afraid the Israelis might unearth even more archaeological evidence substantiating their rightful claim to the Mount.
