It seems odd since the pro-abort movement was kicked off by NARAL,a group founded by three jews,Larry Lader,Betty Frieden and a Dr. nathanson. Many countries followed the example we set with Roe v. Wade. Now it appears that abortion in the world's only jewish country is basically very restricted. Hypocritical or what?

I don't understand Gratvol. he sounds like he thinks he's discrediting by point when he's actually proving it. Also what does he mean by he doesn't see any difference? He cites many restrictions. There is no abortion on demand to all in this list he gives us. People should read questions before they answer.

I think we can all agree that there are people who claim to be about every religion under the sun who do not live up to the principles of their religions or otherwise represent their faith as a whole. I would guess this was the case here. Last I knew, the Jewish faith still abode by that "Thou Shalt Not Kill" thing, as a general rule.

From what I have read it seems not so different from the United States.

The point I was making is that while their are more prosedures to go though esentially almost every situation that would be an abortion in the United States would be the same in Israel. The only major restriction is wealty married families with no health problems. I dont think those are who pro-choice groups fight and advocate for when they talk of the need of abortion.

In addtion Jews are not monolitic people. They have views from every end of the political and religious spectrum. To say that just because many Jews advocate abortion on demand in the United States has no bearing on the opinion of Jews in Israel. That would be like saying Blacks in Hati have the same view as Blacks in the United States

The majority of Jews believe that a child only becomes a child at birth and that abortions are allowed if the mother's life is in danger. While many do not personally support it, they believe that there shouldn't be restrictions on it.

I don't think that this information is correct, on the basis of what the following links disclose: http://www.jewsformorality.org/israel_abortion.htm
http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Health/abort1.html
You may have heard that hospitals in Israel don't perform these abortions. They are in fact done privately.
