Its a great fix short term. .5mgs would be way to low for me even though I haven't taken it for 2 years. If your anxiety is as bad as it sounds, you may have to talk to your dr. about taking a higher dose if this doesn't do much. Its a short term fix so look into other more permanent drugs like lexapro which is the only drug that helped my anxiety

Very effective, fast acting and highly addictive. I was taking 0.5mg "as needed" for my panic attacks. I quickly found that I needed it constantly. Since it's fast acting, it wears off pretty fast and I would find myself falling back into another panic attack. I'd need another pill. Soon I was taking 3 or 4 at a time.
My doctor freaked out when she found out how many pills I needed to keep from having panic attacks so I was switched to klonopin. The klonopin lasts much longer and I don't feel the need to pop pills all day. I take 1mg in the morning and 0.5mg at night. It's working much better for me than the ativan and I have not gotten addicted. I don't feel the klonopin 'kick in' or wear off like I did with the ativan.

ativan is a good thing, calmed me down pretty good except it also help me sleep more than anything
