Free will in the theological sense has to do with the ability to look to God for salvation. Pelagianism believes that man has the total ability to choose God. Semi-Pelagianism believes that God works with man in salvation, and this is what the Catholic Church believes.
Arminianism looks at man as having only a spark of ability, but still an ability to seek out God. Calvinism removes this ability completely and calls it total depravity.
Protestant churches are sometimes a mix of Arminianism Calvinism, which also keep things lively on Yahoo answers.

Having the choice to do right or wrong. Good or bad. Love or hate. Sing or cry. Help or be part of the problem.
The ability to choose. The right to choose. That is free will.

Something God has. Something Adam and Eve had. Something no one on this earth has.
