I’m using Windows XP SP2 home edition. I have tried removing it from MSCONFIG, but the process still appears on my task manager. I want to remove the process entirely from my computer and I also want to know if there’s a risk if I remove t.

cftmon.exe is a part of the Microsoft Office suite and handles speech input for this product. This program is a non-essential process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

You can disbable the process tree but if it's not causing any problems then you shouldn't worry about it. If you need more stuff taken off of your registry I would download Eusing.

Eusing will clean out your registry of unwanted and leftover files from improper installation and uninstallation. It also helps remove startup executables so you don't have many things lagging your computer in your processess. Hope this helps!
