My Gramma wants to maintain her freedom, and refuses to move where we can provide better care for her. Can’t afford to hire a helper for her, so I’m looking for an affordable way for her to remain indipendent and for her to not feel like a burden to the rest of the family. Any thoughts?

You can let your grandma be independent, but be able to let her call you if she needs something. My parents found something called an assistance dialer. There's a pendant that can be worn, and when the call button on the pendant is pushed, it automatically calls us to let us know she needs help. It wasn't that expensive either, something like $60 to purchase i think? my dad bought it from x10.com

let her have her freedom unless you see her doing something like leaving the gas on or something . You know something that endangers her welfare . good luck .
