I'm starting to want a perm but are they still "in"? My aunt think that perms are kind of for old people.
Please tell me if you like these ideas for a perm.
I have long brown hair when the suns on it it looks like red highlights. Very silky? Would these curls be really hard to take care of?

Curls Are Never Really "Out" Only The Way They Are Worn. If Your Hair Is Long (Shoulder Length Or Longer) It May Not Curl Without A "Layered Cut" Consult A Good Stylist Before Proceeding. Perms come In A Variety of "Types" And Can Give Body, Waves, Soft, Flexable Curls Or Firm, Structured Curls The Type Of Cut, Perm, Hair Type And Condition And The Degree Of Curl Desired All Affect How Easy It Will Be To Achieve And Maintain. Good Luck!! ( P.S. The Pics Show Hair That Has Been Professionally Styled. Even If you Get A Perm You May Still Need To Set And Style Your Hair To Get The Look You Want. Perms Help The Style Last For Several Hours/Days Instead Of Several Minutes.)

Perms are only for old people if you have an old lady haircut.
Otherwise, nobody young would have curly hair.
Curls are in.
You can ask the people who do it how to take care of it. I have curly hair, it's easy, and I don't think I look like an old lady. They're nothing like those pictures, though.
That seems tough to achieve. (perfect)

I love those curls... My hair is naturally curly so thats what my hair looks like..... but yah it would probably look good on ya..... well good luck with yo hair... and perms never go out of stlye and if they do so what.. so yo hair is naturally straight? cuz i use perms to make mines straight not curly...you will not fry yo hair if you are black, mixed, or mexican it will not fry yo hair she dont know what she talkin about..... plus you didnt say yo hair was course(nappy) so i dont know why she said that.. plus its a such thing as black girls wit good hair cuz people think my hair is weave when i tell them its mines and then they ask if im mixed and the answer is no I'M 100% BLACK! ooh i hate that...

perms r kinda for the older generation i mean no one these days really get them. im sorri to say the girl on the bottom her hair looks like its naturally like that and the top the woman looks like she used a curling iron. if u do get a perm chances r it would look NOTHING like that. if u think u look betta with curly just geta reallly good curling iron. good luck!!!

The first photo, a spiral perm, is very pretty. I know alot of men who like curly hair. I had a wave and i love it.

As long as you keep it more natural looking and not tight old school 80's permed it is fine. Pretty loose spirals and waves look really pretty.

sounds like she used Perm sprial rods and dryed the hair. this could be a not uncomplicated type to maintain up .....cuz its not uncomplicated to sleep on. could be a spiral perm.........seems very curly and strong curls.

Do NOT get a perm! You will FRY your hair!! This happened to my friend's hair and now her texture is really coarse.

You should get a body wave. It won't damage your hair as badly, lasts just as long and looks more natural.

I would recommend using higher quality gel. I love Aveda products. They are so natural.
