He certainly can. There is nothing that will stop him from registering his car, but why is he being stupid about his tickets? If he really is in the process of paying them down, there wouldn't be a warrant, because he'd have to go in and negotiate. As long as the warrant is valid he can be arrested. Remember, the cop has no choice, even if Mr. Wonderful is sending his $10 a week, if the warrant is active the cop has no choice.

Possible.... warrants are put in to the NCIC system. Anyone in any state runs your name and DOB and a hit for the warrants will come up.

When you apply for a license or ID in any state, they will run your name and find the warrant.

Now, the real question is if they will extradite you from one state to an other on a warrant for an unpaid ticket.

You need to clear this up... it will never go away.

Depending on the state, it would be unlikely that you would be arrested. As a rule, traffic tickets are non-extraditeable unless it is a Criminal traffic charge.

However, there;s a good chance you would be unable to get a D/L in another state because of the outstandig Warrants.

Yes, but whether they will extradite you is a different issue. It is unlikely that your state would extradite over unpaid tickets. However, this warrant will come up on any criminal background check, which will effect you in other ways.

If the fine on the citation is jailable, and the warrant is serviceable in that area, you can be arrested.

If it is a federal violation, even a parking ticket issued by a federal agency, they will issue a warrant.

The US Marshalls will come for you.

However, if it is issued by any state agency, it is very unlikely.
