Hi there!,
I agree with you completly. Being a Christian has nothing to do with religion, its all about following Jesus and striving to be more like Him!! God bless you!
In Christ,

2ndPoet,
Those who followed Christ were first called Christians at Antioch according to the scriptures. I follow HIS WORD and HIS SON, Jesus Christ. I am therefore a Christian. Have a nice day.
Thanks,
Eds
EDIT:
Cool Aid,
Believing in Christ does not mean that you are Christ-like or a Christian. I can believe in Firemen without being one. Becoming a Christian takes more than knowing who HE was.

WRONG ! WRONG! WRONG! you're WRONG, christian !
the ONLY way someone can be "christ-like", is to accomplish the following (Jesus did, I have too):
Create a Private, Personal, Direct, Divine Relationship with Our Creator and save Your Soul from religion's and atheist's beliefs.
<<<<<<< Love is the answer >>>>>>>
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
"religion is Spiritual fraud";
"religion is the Worse invention of humanity";
"Universal Truth has eliminated religion from Spirituality",
quotes of Jesus Christ, Buddha and any one else with Spiritual intelligence.
atheists = all the people in religion = all the ignorant fundamentalists = all the cults/superstitions = paganism = wicca = xians

good question. I wish I could understand that myself. I personally have come across Christians calling others non-christian even though they do believe in Christ. First, who are they to judge? it's the proverbial "pot calling the kettle black". Second, as you were suggesting, a Christian is a person who believes in and tries to follow Christ. It doesn't matter how weird or different they are. If it did matter then no church is truly christian because every church would be claiming the others aren't. a church in not christian, nor the verse. but a person can be by following Christ even if it is their own personal unique way.

For the same reason "Islam" means "submission (to God)" and not religion yet Christians call that one a religion.
Christianity is a religion. Deal with it.

2.000 years of practice. Millions and millions of followers. Sounds like a religion to me. Christ is the answer!

Why don't you look up the definition of a religion. Maybe that would give you a clue.
