I know Ensure definitely does. I've always wanted to be bigger when I was in high school so I started drinking Ensure and I went from 115 to 130 in less than 4 months. Plus it's healthy for you.

Boost and Ensure can add extra calories to your daily intake in a nutritious way, but are not meant for meal replacements. These are usually given to the elderly, since many elders do not have big appetites. Try drinking three a day WITH MEALS to add calories.

They can since they are packed with calories. Use them as a supplement and not as a meal replacement. Eat at least six meals/snacks a day (healthy snacks, not junk food). The idea is to eat more calories than you burn off. So, if you're extremely active you'll need to eat more. You can search the web for a chart that tells you how many calories a particular activity burns, figure out your daily activities and go from there.

They do work & many of the elderly who aren't eating right are put on those drinks. They're packed with calories. As for how much you should drink, I can't really say. I guess you have to experiment, as they make you feel quite full.

i think there are better choices if you want a protein drink because these have lots of carbs and little protein and all they really give is calories.
i prefere whey protein powder where most of calories (if not all) come from protein and you can mix it with milk, juice or water, you can add it to pancakes etc.
