to ignore the obvious sarcasm hateful postings that some of the atheist on here post. Whenever I log on to Yahoo! Answers I always come across some sass about our Savior. There’s always somebody egging Christians, like myself, on to say something hateful or derogatory. I have fallen into the trap myself, wanting to defend Him, and I couldn’t help but feel wrong for feeding into it, not to mention I was not setting a Christian example, and knowing He does not need me to defend Him because his work speaks for itself.
Do you think, as a Christian we should ignore obvious sarcastic hateful questions and only answer questions of people who are really looking for a truthful answer?
As Christians we know we can not change anybody, but pray and let Jesus do his work! ~God Bless~

saintrose, as you requested here is 2 Timothy 2:23-24 23Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

Midge, I have not said one bad thing about Catholics. I personally do not put down any religion that is serving God. I know, as do you, PEOPLE do bad things, not GOD, Jesus or religion.

I would try to ignore it, as you said, you cant change anyone, so pray and leave it at that. Some people are ignorant, and the only useful thing they seem to be able to do is argue with people of different belief, maybe this is due to whats missing in their life.

Absolutely!
Though I check them to see if there are some answerers who honestly want to answer their obnoxious questions, then I will share something to clear up the hatefulness.
Sometimes people get too wrapped up in the Atheists' picking at some insignificant detail of criticism, usually taken out of context, anyway. There have been some less strong Christians whose faith has been shaken by these nasties.
It is always best to be respectful in the answers, though, since we can't see or hear the questioner, occasionally we might be attacking an honest question.

I know it is frustrating at times, but just think of how he would have handled it. The Pharisees tempted him in the same way many people do today. Did he lash out at them? No. He was meek, loving, and kind. I think if we were to responded to them by looking at his examples, we would be better off. Think of how many times they could not answer him because they knew he was right. Many of them did not believe, and sadly many today will not believe either.
Remember the time they found the women taken in adultery and he said "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." They all left with nothing to say.
If we would try and answer in a loving way using scripture God will do the work. We are to spread the word, he will do the saving.

Hi there!,
Well, I have seen some of the answers posted toward us. But, we must turn the other cheek. Remeber, the world hates us. Take heart, for the world hated Jesus first without cause. Even though someone may hurt you because of what they say, just remeber how our sin hurt Jesus. Hang in there!!! God bless!!
In Christ,

When u perceive a question to be a trap or hateful you have the choice to steer clear away.
There is no need to defend our God because he can defend himself he never asked us to defend him.
Yes God commanded us to tell others about him but if we tell them and they don't want to hear leave them alone but this is the Internet not personal interaction.
I believe in choice and you choose questions to read and answer. So if a question that you chose is perceived to be preaching or sarcasm that is your fault not the askers'.
You made the decision.

It seems like you are asking with knowledge of the right answer. People who are spitting in Jesus' face with their words ( that are being recorded in heaven, I must add ) are doing so because of their low view of God and themselves. But too, they get some sadistic, hell-driven delight in taunting God's elect. But as I've said before, we'll get the last laugh. Pray for them, but don't be a party to their schemes.

I think you are on the right track....Some postings should be ignored,so that you are not tempted to retaliate with condecending remarks....I have to watch myself as well....I can be a bit of a smart-alec...but I try to mix humor with my answers, quite often, rather than lash out in a wrongful, un-Christ-like spirit.
EDIT: As "Acid Zebra" pointed out the other day,We are like a big disfunctional family....And it is funny...after a while, as you begin to know the people on R&S and see them even more as objects of Christ's love, you also have feelings of love for them,as part of your extended "R&S family"....But the main reason we are here,is to defend the Gospel, sow seed and share the good news and we can not afford to ever lose sight of that.

It's the sinners that Christ came to save my friend, we are already sheep in the fold, he is looking to get the ones that are lost, as Christians, it is our job to help lead them to Christ, we are only human, and we need our Lord's devine guidance and sometimes the devil does tempt and upset us, but be mindful of Jesus Christ and strive to forgive and have compassion on those who cannot or do not understand, pray, God will guide your heart always.
