Yes afraid so. When I purchased this home it had been rented to students and I dread to think what was on or in the carpets. However worse to come the Boiler had leaked kerosene oil, into the concrete floor and the smell was toxic. I got cat litter for the kerosene and then got a carpet cleaner, went through the place several times but the stains remained. However the odor went for about one year and then returned. The removal men walked in and said 'You cannot sleep here tonight with that smell, but I did'.
If dog does wee, then get some cat litter which will absorb the wee and get rid of the smell. The longer it is left, the less chance you have to clean it up.

It would likely make me mentally ill more than physically ill. There are a lot of dog urine remover products on the market, but many only cover up the smell and don't remove it completely. I used a home made recipe that worked like a dream.
