ugh, same thing happened to me. i found this amazing stuff called Nature's Cure. its a twice-a-day chewable tablet(all natural ingredients) and a 10% benzol peroxide cream. it worked wonders for me! although, one of the ingredients is black cohosh which can make your period heavier.

Proactiv didn't help any for me. It actually made my small pimples GROW HUGE! I got mad after my first month. Actually, their refining mask is AWESOME THOUGH! That is their only item that works!
Honestly though, I don't really get pimples so often anymore. What I find to work best is just using Dove's beauty soap, a nice sensitive toner, and regular moisturizer. I have felt like all those acne cleansers make our faces grow dependent on them, never allowing us to ever grow out of having acne. Also, sometimes, acne is an internal problem. That's why some people take acutane and birth control pills, because it helps to kill the bacteria inside people.
What I find as the best solution is healthy eating. Fruits and veggies are a must. I was told by a former secretary for a plastic surgeon, that the best thing one can do is eat well. Because all those things we put on our faces doesn't work. The molecules can't penetrate our epidermous and the best thing to do is eat real food. For example, avacodos, make you skin really soft, so eat some everyday. The best thing you can do is work from the inside out. Because you are what you eat.
Don't depend on cleansers so much. I found that out the hard way. I tried Shishado(SP?) and it made me BREAK OUT LIKE CRAZY! Cost me 200$ for the set too. Don't waste your money, and stop putting all those chemicals on your face, in the end, it's not worth it.

The key to using any acne medication is to stick to ONE brand. If you use proactiv, use it twice a day, once in the morning, once at night, and use no other medication in between, as it upsets your system. I would reccomend Proactiv (what I currently use) Or Nuetrogena or Clinique. Once you find one, stick with it for at least two weeks in a row, and use it twice daily. After the second week, if you are not satisfied, you can try something different. However, you'll never find anything that works unless you stick with it long enough to find out. Proactiv also has a garenteed work. If you don't like it- return it. Hope this helps :)

i take advantage of Proactiv and listed here are my suggestions: * do not basically like the scent the two and don't basically like the incontrovertible fact that the purifier does not lather such as you will assume a face purifier to take action which you never think of it is somewhat cleansing yet i assume it does! *did not like the traditional face lotion that contains the set. i found that it makes my oily epidermis even oilier so i take advantage of Dove face lotion particularly and it is effective. *different than those 2 negatives, i've got discovered that it somewhat does artwork. i finished using it for a whilst and used save offered manufacturers yet I have been given zits. So I went returned to Proactiv and each little thing cleared up interior a week.

Proactive worked great for me at first, then it stopped, I started using Acne Free its a three step program like proactive, but at half the price and you can get it at your local market. I have been using it for a long while and I haven't plateaued out yet, so I think its better, and cheaper!

Yes! You always seem to with that stuff. It's nasty too, it bleached ALL my clothes!! I'm now on 2 prescriptions. Chlindamycin in the morning, and Differin at night. It works pretty well, although you do have to ask your doctor for a prescription. As for over the counter things..I'm not really sure. I do know that if all else fails, antibiotics will certainly do the trick. I've had very severe acne though, so I'm not sure if this pertains to you exactly. Hope you find what you're looking for!

i used proactiv and it did not work for me. i used for about 4-6 weeks (which is the recommended amount of time) and it didn't work. it almost looked like i had a little bit of sunburn so i knew right there that proactivs formula is not suggested for sensitive skin (even when i moisturized and bought the sensitive skin formula one). my acne didn't change. didn't get better and didn't get worse. it was a waste of my $60.

Yes! I just ran out of Proactive and decided not to reorder because it stopped helping at all. I bought Neutrogena Anti-Stress cleanser, that stuff is so nice. My skin is soft and exfoliated and it is so calmed down. I really like it. I haven't found anything topical to switch to yet, though.

I used proactive and it didn't work for me. What I had to do was, drink plenty of water, change my diet, I also take primrose oil that works wonders on my skin! I also started using Olive Essentials Set, from DHC skin care, it gives my skin a natural glow.
