I like Christians who are genuinely nice and caring towards others-even those with different beliefs. Christians who display an unselfish attitude and who will go out of their way to help others. I only wish that all Christians could be that way.

Here's a big part of why Christians have fallen under attack recently. A lot of church history that was suppressed or forgotten for ages has come back into the light and cast a lot of it (Catholic in particular) as quite villainous. Think about it....the church persecuted women as witches if they practiced traditional folk healing....they betrayed and murdered a group that had historically been their allies and even saved them from bankruptcy (the Templars), and had even openly tortured and murdered their own monastic brethren (Dominicans were the arm of the Inquisition, and attacked the Fransiscan Friars who led a life of poverty and servitude). The history of "Christianity" is ugly.
That said, I know some present-day Christians who do very good work involving people who are homeless or addicted or ill or other situations....they approach the people they work with as people, not victims, not someone needing the ministry of (insert church name here), but as someone who needs help, or a friend, or an ear.
I can't call myself a Christian anymore, but I can say it was a Christian who helped me when I was trying to get clean and sober up, when people I knew of other faiths were condemning me for having the addiction in the first place. It turns out there wasn't a problem with the other faiths, it's just that these particular ex-friends (and some family) were real jerks.
Goodness and kindness can be found everywhere in individuals of any faith. It's when you get into groups that have such large bodies that you find politicism, ostracism, etc, which is part of why I'm no longer calling myself Christian. I'll stick with God and Jesus and his teachings and everyone else can have their doctrine, whether it's Catholic or Anglican or Lutheran or whatever.

Do people ALWAYS have something negative to say about Christianity? I suspect not. Even on R&S . . .
Christianity has played an important role in World culture, both for the good and for ill.
I have known many, many Christians who are loving, honest people, and I am proud to call several of these individuals, parents and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, and friends.
Generally speaking, I reserve my criticism for the doctrinal aspects of Christianity. And even here, the effect of doctrines I cannot give intellectual agreement to has not ALWAYS been negative.

I think that is because Christians (and I am one) have spent more time telling them that they are damned than they have setting an example of love by feeding the hungry, taking care of the sick, etc.
I know lots of converts and they hardly ever say to me, "You know I was walking down the street and someone told me I was going to hell and I said 'DANG! what if that person is right!?'" Usually they say things like, "I saw this person being incredibly loving and I wanted to know WHY on earth anyone would do that?"
It is our actions that give us an audience for our words. If our words are being rejected, we must look to our actions.

Ok my positive thing is that i think the Church as a way to promote community involvement and family values is great. The way Chistians feel a need to gather and genuinely have fun with things like camps and missionaries is great. If they could do all those things WITHOUT Brainwashing and preaching a non-existant god then i would be a christian too.

not really an athiest but i don't believe in religion and i like christian's that keep it to themselves. ex. I like christian's that don't tell me that they aren't trying to convert me but the whole conversation is about converting me, i like christian's that don't alienate people that don't think like them, i like christian's that can give me their point of view intellegently without trying to change mine, i like christian's that understand they aren't perfect (just because they say they aren't perfect doesn't mean they remember that fact when they need to.), I like christian's that chose christianity because of what it does for them and not so that they won't go to hell, i like christian's that don't dwell on what's going to happen when they die but are enjoying every day of their lives.
On the campus for my job there are 3 buildings with 3 floors full of people, muslim, jew, christian, etc. So why out of all of these people can i find only 2 people like that. the majority of the campus is christian. i find that alot of christian's here in the south especially, feel like if your not a christian then you are not worth their time but if you did it to them they would cry foul. you and others can believe what you want to believe without trying to force people to be like you. my mother told me to be a leader and not a follower and if i don't believe in something whole heartedly i don't do it. If i'm not getting anything from it, it's a waiste of my time and the people's time that are trying to get me to do whatever it may be at the time.

If they say something negative, up front, then they can dismiss anything we have to say, and ignore our demeanor and "good deeds" as just our attempt to "trap" them into listening to what we believe.
If you can just lump all the truths in the Bible together as a "bunch of myths", then you can just go on about your own business and your godless life, without having to consider that there *might* be a Creator-God to whom you should be accountable!

I am happy Christians are kind and believe in God and want to help people.
bad side: most either think they are always right and their religion is the only one the best(and possibly anyone who believes something else is going to hell).
I know, I'm clumping Christians together in this so I'm sorry to those Christians who do not do that.

I don't bother saying negative things about Christians, I just point out their actions....which makes them look bad, often.
And, since I'm not an atheist, I don't have to name something I like about Christians as a whole, as opposed to individual ones, son I won't.
I've never met a Christian who wouldn't've been just as good or better a person if they changed or lost their faith.

It's one thing to say what you mean and diss Christianity online in here. But get them to say the same things to your face and they'll be more tactful and discreet.
And many who say they're atheists, I don't believe them.
