They are paying taxes to both, are you aware of this....If an American moves to another country, they still have to pay taxes and report them in this country, nice huh? I know this because my husband and I are thinking of retiring in another country....
It does have excellent climate, the food is amazing, and in many preHispanic towns, the dollars stretches more, the life is better....Its very laid back...
Why Mexico? because its so much closer than the rest of Latin America, do you realize how large this continent is?

Most are there for business reasons. People like to retire in Mexico because of the climate, the less expensive real estate and the culture. I am not sure about the taxes - most likely paid to the host government (Mexico).

I realize the benefits of living in Mexico. Why do you lie about the number? There are nowhere near 1.5 million Americans living in Mexico you claim.
Post a source for your lie.

1.5 million ( I have heard more like 2 million ) is a small number of the the 300 million americans.
especially when you consider that there is probably 20-30 million people from mexico ( if you consider illegal and legal ) in the USA and Mexico's population is about 100M or so.

They don't pay taxes - that I'm aware of anyway... Besides, houses (big huge nice ones) go for about $300,000 on large properties... The beaches are beautiful and you can live a great life on american dollars.
