If Christians don't criticise, then I guess they won't get ostracized.
And if you believe that you can go to heaven only having accepted Christ, but live a life where one behaves and acts with malice, violence and cruelty, then your understanding of Christianity is incomplete. Coz look at the exemplary lifes of the apostles and friends, and how they lived their lives after Jesus had returned to heaven?
Acceptence of Christ means transforming your heart, the "old you" has been "crucified" and dead, and the born again you should reflect the divinity that lives within you in your heart, blessed by the blood of the holy one.

While not an atheist, I think the basic gist is that, essentially, many Christians certainly act as if they expect non-Christians to follow the Bible 100% of the time.
Non-Christians are rather frequently told that we're sinners, that we're immoral, that we're downright eeeeevil! All for simply not being Christian. Anything that we do that's deemed wrong is "sin," or viewed as "proof" that we're serving Satan. No forgiveness (unless we accept Jesus), no slack, no leeway. We're evil, we're bad, no matter what we do.
But, whenever a Christian screws up (small or large), forgiveness is the word of the day. It apparently doesn't matter that some televangelist bilked several million from gullible old ladies, he's saved, so he's a good person - unlike that godless heathen down the street who's damned to hell for not buying a brownie at the church bake sale.
Fortunately, most Christians aren't rabid, and don't hold that sort of view towards non-Christians. But, for the ones who do, expect to find that very same zoom lens turned upon yourself. Because, as you said, humans make mistakes - and if somebody is going to have no allowance for that, they deserve no allowance in return.

Because you guys follow some parts of the bible with flame and sword but completely skip over others (i am only talking about literalists). Then you sya the bible is the word of god and you should take it word for word.
for example, you guys seem to justify kiling pretty well. now, i am not a gung ho pascifisct, anti death penalty liberal, but you guys love to quote the 10 commandments which includes thou shalt not kill, but you also seem to be the most lenient on that one.
We dont expect you to act without sin 100% of the time, but we do expect you to try to not be bad in all respects. If you really examine it, liberalism is much more christian than conservatism. and communism is also much more christian than capitalism. again, i am not communist, but jesus did say give to the poor, what better way than 1 class. Capitalism involves lying, cheating , stealing, scandals and the like. For example, for every day trader than makes money, another loses. For every dollar one person has, it is one less dollar in the hands of others. Again, i am, not a communist, but it does seem more "christian."

Personally when I see it said that Christians are hypocrites because they go to church on Sunday and sin the rest of the week I laugh. I have heard that argument all my life. It is another, okay, prove it statement.
Yes, we are sinners, we sin. We make mistakes, we get in trouble and do the same things as any other human being. Others have problems getting past the "Christian" label to realize, we are just people, just like every one else, just like atheists.
Of course, some of our brethren Christians do this concept no good by acting as if they are somehow better than others, even other Christians.

It is an interesting double standard, and is, I suspect, a smokescreen - a red herring - designed to throw people off their trail.
The fallacy is something like this, "How can you tell me what I ought to do when you don't do it..."
This has nothing to do with whether or not we are right. The plain truth of the matter is that people should not maim and kill (for example), and whether or not some supposed "Christian" maims or kills is entirely irrelevant as to whether or not others should follow suit.
Incidentally, it seems to me to be a bit childish to immediately cry that we are behaving "holier than thou" if we correctly point out the wrongness of something. If you and I are both playing in the street, and I point out to you that it's dangerous, whether I am a hypocrite or not, we are both liable to get run over. The wise thing to do is to take the correction, take the appropriate action, and leave God to deal with the hypocrite.

This penny stock service has years of proven experience. Ultimately it is the best service for beginners to use https://tr.im/O73aZ
You will have to wait between 3 and 10 days to get into the system in most cases. When I signed up it took 8 days. I wished it was faster, but if you can wait a week or two to start earn life changing money than you will have what it takes to make it in this business.

Well, why shouldn't they?
After all, the majority of atheists act in total accordance with THEIR beliefs pretty close to 100% of the time.
I'm a heathen following the ancient Norse godhs, customs, beliefs, and lore, and I act in accordance with MY beliefs, if not 100% of the time, pretty close to 24/7.
Why should you get a "jeebus luvs me anyway" free pass on walking your talk? Are the rest of us really made of stronger stuff? Or is your religion just a "bad fit" for mankind?

Amen. People are people. They are flawed. I am flawed. Anyone who thinks they are perfect are actually sinning because only Jesus is perfect. We can strive for that but we will never attain it. I am sick of atheists calling us hypocrites etc. I am sure there are a few hypocritical atheists out there. I wish they would just back off. The only time a person deserves to be called a hypocrite is if they truly deserve it. Atheists throw that word out almost every christian post. I am sick of it.

An Atheist only has his own mind to make the judgments about how he should choose his actions.
Christians. Christians have a brain, but they also have a book. In Christianity, when the brain and book are in conflict, the book is always supposed to win. Otherwise, you are picking and choosing, which is a demonstration of a lack of faith in the Bible and its teachings. Somebody who does not have faith in either of these is not a Christian.

I don't. I'd just like to see some practice the positive rather than the negative.
The majority of the posters here on YA are example of worst kind of Christian hate-mongers.
And they are the only ones anyone has issues with.
