Get a good flea spray (we use Adam's Flea and Tick) and spray it on a hand towel. Wrap the kitten up in the towel like a burrito (head exposed) for about 2-3 minutes twice a day. Keep this up until the kitten is free of fleas (usually 3-4 treatments is enough). At 8 weeks you can start Frontline or Advantage for effective flea protection.
Yes, please don't use any powders or flea shampoos - they carry too high a risk of poisoning the kitten. A light spray on a towel will fumigate the fleas without that risk. It's not as effective immediately, it takes several treatments to get all the fleas, but you must do it or the fleas will cause the kitten to become anemic and it may die.

The best and most safest way to eliminate fleas is to take your kitten to your vet and have her "dipped" in a solution that quickly and efficiently removes the fleas. While she is at the vet, you must clean your home and rid it of any fleas. You don't want them to get back on the cat once she gets back home. Vacumm well, wash all the clothes and soft items, like blankets, bedding, etc... Vaccum your furniture and clean anything the cat lays on- bedding etc.... And to further prevent fleas get a flea medication from your vet to be applied once monthy to prevent fleas, even if your kitten is an indoor cat. People can bring in fleas as well. Flea collars are not effetive and the animals hate them. Flea powders are messy and could blow in her eyes. Dipping will not kill her, but check about her being young, if the one doing the dipping is professional and qualified, she will be completely fine. Check with your vet to make sure the one doing so is qualified. Dawn dish soap also does not work. Fleas are like lice, humans can't wash their hair with soap or shampoo to rid of them. I hope this has helped you, and I hope your problem is solved soon. As always talk to your vet and decide with him/her what is best for your kitten. Good luck to your kitten and I hope her life is long and prosperous.

My cat had a litter of kittens(4).I noticed fleas on them when they was 2 weeks old.I found a site that sells kitten safe flea spray. It repels all insects and is safe to use on humans to repel mosqitos.I was desperate. So I bought a bottle of the spray. This spray is real nasty smelling.the kittens stunk real bad for a half hour after they was sprayed. You use the spray daily. It took 4 days to kill all the fleas. It really works. The site I linked below takes pay pal.I recieved the spray in 3 days.

Check out kitten flea collars. I think that the kitten should be 6 weeks old for those. Also bathe her with a gentle shampoo. She won't like it but it will help.

Easy... Give the kitten a bath in Dawn dish soap.( the blue one) I had to do this to my cat when he was a kitten. The dawn kills the fleas instantly and will not harm your kitten. Just be sure and rinse her off completely and not get soap in her eyes. Good luck!
