Check with www.up.com (Union Pacific) who own 90% of the rail on the West Coast !!

There are also many metro commuter lines: CALTRAIN, ACE, VTA, etc in addition to AMTRAK.

Check out Amtrak California for the routes of the rail lines there.

If AMTRAK only there is the "Coast Starlight" and the "California Zephyr" plus the San Joaquin trains. Then from LA going east there is the "Sunset Limited." Thats about it.

Are you just looking for lines to watch and photograph trains?? any road map will show lines. If you are looking for ways to travel via passenger service check onlilne,seriously that is the best way from your home.

Why don't you just check the Yellow Pages? You could also "Google" it, if you know how to use a computer!
