It isn't the watching that is really the problem, it's the fact that by providing a reason for porn to be made you are supporting the degradation of other humans and turning the act of sex into a merely mechanical bodily function. If you have ever had sex with someone with whom you were deeply and intensely committed, you would know that the act of sex is much, much more.

What is wrong is not the watching but the consequence or influence it may give after that. When it becomes a habit and the effects on your personality may not be good anymore then something wrong had already set in.
There are weaker personalities that watching too much of it have made them promiscous, sex addict, rapists and molesters.
That is why the show is always with warning for mature audiences only. Maturity may not necessarily be of age but of mental capabality.

I think that the general idea from the Old Testament was that it was shameful to deliberately look upon the nakedness of someone that you were not married to (remember Ham being cursed because he looked upon his father's nakedness?). There are obvious exceptions for infants and the sick, but normally it was seen as a disgrace to show your body to someone other than your spouse ("And do not go up to my altar on steps, lest your nakedness be exposed on it." Ex. 20:26, for example).

In both the Old and New Testaments, it was considered adultery to look upon the body of another person's spouse with the intent to lust, whether that person was clothed or not (Job 31:1; Proverbs 6:24-26; Matthew 5:27-30). So I suppose that many would consider you to be cheating on your spouse to watch another naked person having sex.

It is wrong because it promotes promiscuity. To say that it doesn't hurt anyone ignores all of the studies that have been done proving the opposite.

First, it demeans the participants (whether they realize it or not). It cheapens sexuality into a spectator sport.

Second, it causes men and women to lust in ways that are unhealthy. Their eyes will then compare their spouse with whomever they see in the porn.

Third, the more porn that is watched, the more depraved a person becomes. Its a lot like programming. You put bad data in, you get bad data out. You will find that many serial killers and child molesters started with pornography.

Fourth, it goes against everything in the Bible regarding sexuality. God has a plan for us as it relates to sex. It is to be based on a committed, monogamous relationship. Pornography changes that mix. We are to flee from sexual immorality.

Personally, there isn't anything wrong with porn, but the "it doesn't hurt anyone" excuse don't work. Not for Christians. Watching pornography is pretty much lust. That's one of the 7 deadly sins. You are meant to show your romance, etc. for your spouse only.

True Christians treat sex sacredly. It is a private, special and sacred thing between a man and a women who have been married.

I know it hurts people... I've talked with lots of women who's husbands watch porn and it makes them feel self conscious and hurt. It turns loving relationships into lustful and loveless relationships.

How about the industry that it supports, it pays for drugs for the "Actors" and promotes Adultery, it is demeaning to women, men that watch lots of porn tend to treat women worse and as objects instead of people.

It promotes promiscuity that leads to STD's unwanted pregnancy, abortion, drug and alcohol addiction, it that not hurting anyone?

But nothing is wrong with sex. If used as we are supposed to, it is much better than any porn.

Peace!

Jesus said that looking at someone lustfully is the same as committing adultery in your heart. Viewing porn is a form of adultery.

Or think of it like this: Jesus walks in the room. What are you going to do, quickly shut off the porn or keep watching it? Jesus would not subject himself to that stuff, so you shouldn't either.

Or, if you have children in the room, are you going to let them watch with you? Of course not! Why would you subject yourself to it then?

It's like walking around the neighborhood and peeking into bedroom windows to watch other people have sex.

It's perverted, and it's wrong. That's why we shouldn't do it.

That is explained by Christ in the New Testament: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

You may also remember the Story of King David who watched "porn" or watched Bethsheba bath outside his window it led him to adultery and murder.

Porn is a "gateway sin"

"Let fornication and uncleanness of every sort or greediness not even be mentioned among you, just as it befits holy people."-Ephesians 5:3.

"Deaden, therefore, your body members that are upon the earth as respects fornication, uncleanness, sexual appetite, hurtful desire, and covetousness."-Colossians 3:5.

"This is what God wills, . . . that each one of you should know how to get possession of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in covetous sexual appetite such as also those nations have which do not know God."-1 Thessalonians 4:3-5.
