Penske Racing, who has been with just about every manufacturer in racing over the years and who is one of the world’s biggest Toyota dealers, could be making the move to Toyota for next year, the Winston Salem Journal reports. According to sources close to the situation, Penske could be looking at a merger with Michael Waltrip’s struggling Toyota operation. --Fox Sports article.

Would not suprise me at all to see Penske switch to Toyota. When Ford wouldn't give him the factory support he thought they should, he went to Dodge.

At first Dodge listened to the NASCAR Teams and the Intrepid had moderate success with most Teams; but for Rusty and Ryan it was great. Both Drivers where doing real well with the Intrepid and both where making the Chase.

When the Charger was introduced Dodge did not listen to the NASCAR Teams; they did it on their own and the result has been disasterous. Though Penske has managed to begin making the Charger work, I think it is a little too late.

If anyone can get Toyota off the ground it would be Penske. They did it for Ford, they did it for Dodge and I have no doubt they can do it for Toyota.

Well it would certainly be good for Mikey. Personally I wouldn't go near that terminal team. Penske may have the know how and racing knowledge to bring them up some but as long as MW is the guy in charge they will continue to struggle. I can see where Penske is looking at options, though, with the fate of Dodge's involvement in racing up in the air right now. I wonder what Kurt and Ryan would do in that scenario? Thanks for the update and keep us posted David.

I've heard Toyota is also in contact with Joe Gibbs Racing and Robert Yates Racing..
Guess their first year teams left them a little flat.

Hmmm interesting... I think if anyone can turn Michael Waltrips disastrous operation around, Roger Penske can... Like you said he has dealings in almost every manufacturer in racing and has been successful everywhere.

I would like to see ANY of the big name owner's help Toyota out. They're a struggling new team and need a pick me up. Michael Waltrip has got good driver's on his team, maybe if he had the money to invest more in the making's of the car their team would've been off to a better sport. Whether some fans like it or not, Toyota is going to be in Nascar and sooner or later, they're going to make their mark. They just need to get their teams up to par.

i think of Las Vegas may well be a sturdy song for Kurt to win at. i do no longer think Keselowski will %. up a win this twelve months. He had extra suitable kit at Hendrick yet as all people might desire to work out on the top of final twelve months he struggled with Penske.

Toyota's talked with Gibbs and Yates too, I don't see any of them switching. Maybe if Toyata had something to show for this season, but as it is now I think they'd want to stay away from Toyota.
