Okay, i have an interview tomorrow but im kinda nervous and not sure if im ready to go so soon. They said i could reschedule if I can't come in tomorrow, but will that hurt my chances of getting the job? I really need it but Im not sure I'll be ready by tomorrow...AND i don't have much experience, well, actually, this would be my first real job. Should I do a resume anyway? They said bring one if I have one but its pretty much okay if I dont. Thanks:)

Rescheduling the interview will not help you get the job and it could hurt your chances of depending on the person doing the hiring. Sometimes HR people pull things like this to see how you will react and make assumptions depending on what you do.

You should do a resume anyway. List your current level of education. Include any extracurricular activities/clubs you were involved in and what capacity you served (secretary of the Pep club? Put it down. Member of sports team, put it down.) If you had any part-time jobs (lawn-mowing, baby-sitting) list those, too.

Good luck to you. I have a job interview tomorrow, too, so I know what you mean about being nervous.

If this is a job you really want, 1) you definitely should bring a resume, and 2) you should postpone the interview until you feel a little better prepared.. One great way to do that is to do a few practice interviews, perhaps with a friend who actually does interviews as part of their job. Unless the employer in question is looking to make a hire ASAP, they should be willing to let you postpone for a few days.

I don't agree with the people here who implied that rescheduling the interview hurts your chances. If you make the request firmly and politely, it may even help you a little, just by causing you to "stand out."

Good luck!

Hello! Speaking from someone in the "corporate world"...I'd definitely type up a resume, even if this is your first job - you can put your education information on your resume plus any 'outstanding' things you've acheived...awards, certificates, etc.. Also - don't reschedule! It looks very unprofessional if you reschedule something as important as an interview. You have to show the employer that you want the job for them to consider you as a candidate for the job. Good luck!!

Unfortunatly it does look a bit unprofessional if you reschedule an interview appointment without a really good reason - but it also depends on what kind of job you are being interviewed for. (for a corporate office kind of job, don't reschedule, if it's a kind of student type job then it's ok).
Having a resume ready and available at a interview shows that you are organised, prepared and on the ball (bonus points).

YES! Bring a resume and don't lie or exaggerate, it will do more harm than help. Dress professionally. DO RESEARCH the company, and ask questions regarding the job you would be doing. They will be impressed with this. Job interviews are always nerve-wracking, no matter how many you do. I think that you should stick with the time you have. Just prepare! GOOD LUCK!

You should definitely build up a resume and you should definitely go when they asked you to, even if they showed themselves ready to have you interviewed when you can. :D
It's your first real job, they'll understand if you'll have "rookie escapes"
