I believe they were camped at the bottom of Mount Si'nai, where Moses had recieved the Ten Commandments.
Exodus 24 and 25 chapters.
I can see no one else knows the answer

They were at the foot of Mount Sinai. First mention is in Exodus 25:9...
According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.
They were not told to move until after the tabernacle was inaugurated.
