It only happens at 500 increments. 499 stays 499.

That's a weird one.
My suggestion is to type 1500 in a different cell...one that DOES work OK. Then just click, copy, and paste that cell over the one you want. That should do it.

Go to the cell.
Hit +1
Change format to "General" or "Number"

If that doesn't work you either have a faulty version of Excel, or you have a hardware problem.

Assuming it is a licensed copy, contact Microsoft and generate a ticket.
