Is anyone else out there sick and tired of hearing about how Americans won't do certain jobs, then they list landscaping and construction as the top two? Sorry to say this, but I see plenty of white and black Americans doing that kind of work.

and let's not forget hispanic-Americans either. a born and bred Nuyorican that works in construction will be just as affected by illegal immigrants taking his job as the rest of us.

Not very long shops usually advertise at Christmas but try a Job centre Plus and hand in your C.V to all the shops you can think of with a passport pic it will get you noticed If you are trying now it may take a week or months depending on what kind of job you want.

That "Jobs Americans Won't Do" is Republican double-speak to make the hardest working people in the world...the American working class...seem lazy. Republicans hate America and hate Americans. Once that reality settles in much of their actions begin to make more sense.

The truth the Republicans don't want said aloud (Republicans aren't on friendly terms with the truth either) is that Americans would gladly work those jobs......IF THEY PAID A DECENT WAGE

Americans don't want to work for slave wages...we want to be paid a fair wage for our work. Republicans find this offensive to their dreams of higher corporate profit margins....so the jobs become "Jobs Americans won't do"...and we are "lazy"...because "the Mexicans will do this work"

the Mexicans will do this work because they are in an even worse economic situation (thank you NAFTA) than we are

It's a giant slide to the bottom and "Jobs Americans won't do" is just a small part of the Republican-corporate PR campaign against the American people.

I completely agree. Many hardworking Americans would love to have all the jobs that are available. How else where they able to be done in the past. Now the employees who have a career in the field are not able to make nearly enough to survive because illegals are taking over for a minimal amount of pay. You know that once they are legal, they will take over higher paying jobs like office work and so forth. This really needs to stop before its too late. And cut the "nice words" like undocumented workers, call them by their true name, illegals!

I agree!!

My dad worked as a janitor for 3 years when he lost his job at AT&T, and my mother went back to work as a cleaning lady to help make ends meet.

I've done my share of less than favorable jobs to to make ends meet. They didn't complain, and I didn't complain.

If I were not going to college at the time, I would have stayed at the one job; a company that supplies fabric to Batesville Casket Company. The work was hard but the pay was great.

it is all a sham while they are moving the container ports to Mexico and letting Mexican Trucking Companies into the USA to take away millions of middle class paying jobs away from Americans and this is also why the war in Iraq is going on to divert Americans attention from the MERGE with Mexico and Canada into NAFTA for GLOBALIZATION of the Government......this will lead to an economic depression in the USA and an economic boom in Mexico so that poverty stricken white and black chicks inter breed with "wealthy" Mexicans ....make yuor children go to college why it is still an option, because when we hit an "economic depression" there will be no money for Social Programs..oh yah,and the sky is falling....and when I used to deliver in the border towns with 18 wheelers it was pretty common for the Mexicans to be flat out RACISTS which may explain why there are "only Latin Men" in the fields especially with many of the "migrant farm workers" bringing in Cocaine as seen on Americas Most Wanted, and the flat out rape and murdering border hoppers and the like...seems like our Government is setting us up like the Civil War again to get slaughtered and call us racists for trying to survive ...oh well,I got to live here when it was totally awsome, doesn't look so promising for my son or any other kids I may have though...

I'm tired of hearing that, too. Americans will do any job, and gladly, unless the working conditions are completely terrible.
And since we DO have labor laws in this country, there really shouldn't be ANY job that fits that description.

This is part of the liberals attack plan. When I was in California, I wanted to get some of the jobs, but was told that they would only hire Mexicans! The jobs paid more than any job I ever had, too.
But, in Denver, I was refused a good job because I was not a "woman or colored".
It's just another aspect of the same thing. The Government cries discrimination, yet it is the main cause of discrimination.

I'd happily do landscaping or construction... as long as I was getting paid min wage or better. That's the difference... Mexicans will do it for a dollar a day if they have to do that to help support their family. I'd accept no less than $6.50 and hour. So, in other words, people who let illegals work for them for such low wages are pretty much slave owners. And the dems are for this? Hmm.

Makes you wonder where these people live who never see regular Joe's doing labor. I guess in some states all Americans are lawyers or doctors.... I also see regular citizens doing these jobs everyday but maybe my state is not progressive enough...
