Seems he operated as an anti-aircraft gunner from 1943-1945.
He was a POW in an American camp.
Its certainly possible he has US blood on his hands.

Interesting that instead of following Christs example such a famous Christian figure head today chose to serve Hitler.

Many Christians REFUSED to fight for Hitler.
Ratzinger was NOT one of them.
Instead of supporting Christ he REJECTED Christ.
Ratzinger showed weak faith by supporting Hitler.
Is was already well established by 1940 that Hitler was an evil and corrupt person for all to see.

Seems ratzinger also set tank mines after serving as an anti aircraft gunner according to the encyclopedia britannica.
If you are going to cuss and refute this evidence you better find sources to PROVE THAT HE DID NOT SERVE IN HITLERS NAZI military. No excuses.

Let me absolutely and perfectly clear regarding the historic and indisputable facts concerning Ratzinger and Adolf Hitler.

1. Ratzinger was a member of the Hitler Youth- the most elite and prestigious group of young people in Nazi Germany up until 1945.

2. No one was ever drafted to the Hitler Youth. It was an honor above all others to be a member and millions of German youth tried and failed. Only those who had "pure Aryan" bloodlines and were fervantly pro-Nazi could ever join.

3. The only way Ratzinger could ever become a member of the Hitler Youth was to willingly join. Any other statement by Catholic apologists, spin doctors and pr agents is simply and deliberately contrary to historic and well documented fact.

4. There is no way the Catholic Church can explain away the fervant pro-Nazi position of Ratzinger as a youth, nor his imprisonment as a POW member of the Nazis.

5. As far as how many non-Nazis the Pope killed, we will never know. Only God, Ratzinger and the dead know the truth and at this stage, I doubt any honesty regarding this subject will be forthcoming.

No. As a teenager and youthful guy, Joseph Ratzinger (Pope Benedict XVI) became into drafted into the Hitler childrens and the Nazi German military basically like all different non-Jewish German male. He became into not given a decision. The Pope isn't and not has been a Nazi. He regrettably became into born and grew up in a rustic governed by potential of the Nazi party. each and every draftee into the Hitler childrens and the Nazi German military became into not a Nazi. Thank God which you and that i stay in an somewhat diverse worldwide that the Pope did in Nineteen Thirties and Forties Germany. Or can we? With love in Christ.

Seems to me that someone forced BY GERMAN LAW to join the Hitlerjugend at age 14, and drafted out a seminary BY GERMAN LAW at age 16 to serve in the military would not be a very willing soldier. Pope Benedict was never a member of the Nazi party, and he deserted at the first opportunity. There is no evidence or claim that he ever took any active part in behalf of the German army (actually the Luftwaffe since he was assigned to a flak gun unit). He was not required to take an active part anyway, due to illness.

Pope Benedict, a.k.a. Joseph Ratzinger, was born in 1929. You do the math. He was 16 years old when the WW2 ended in 1945..

Pope Benedict XVI was drafted into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army just like every other non-Jewish German male. He was not given a choice.

The Pope is not and never has been a Nazi. He unfortunately was born and grew up in a country ruled by the Nazi party.

Every draftee into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army was not a Nazi.

Thank God that you and I live in a very different world that the Pope did in 1930s and 1940s Germany. Or do we?

With love in Christ.

Helmuth Schmidt former Bundeskanzler of West Germany was in the German armed forces.
So was Hans-Dietrich Genscher his foreign minister.

Ratziger was only 18(!)-years old and a member of an anti-aircraft auxiliary unit in 1945 the year the war ended. Had he not served the SS would have hanged him as a traitor.

Contrast this with:
Christian patriot Byron De La Beckwith US World War 2 veteran and murderer of Medger Evers. America during world war 2 was the epitome of brotherhood and tolerance.

Ummmm, sorry, my misguided fellow Catholic. Catholicism is by NO means the first religion. Our claim as the first Christian church is even disputable.

His Holiness was pressed into service for the Nazis. And according to an interview given to the AP just after his election to the Holy See he claims his service was minimal. So this is something that you kind of have to take at face value.

Nice to see you used a legitimate source like....wikipedia? Do you know that anyone can post whatever they want on wikipedia? As a matter of fact it's possible that you posted that lie yourself, just so you could use it as a source for your question. If you want to try to show everyone how smart you are, then at least try to post truth from a legitimate site, and then ask a real question. By the way what time is your Klan meeting at?

He was too young to be a gunner in 1943. That was sixty four years ago. If he was twenty at the time, he would have to be eighty four now.
He was a member of Hitler Jungend ( Hitler Youth ). Sort of like the boy scouts, but glorifying Hitler and the Nazis. Their motto was Blut und Ehre ( blood and honor ).

He was forced into service, as were all able bodied citizens.. he was put into a POW camp, as were all captured soldiers. He deserted his unit as soon as it was feasible. This comes from the same article you're quoting. I'm no fan of idol-worshiping popery but if you're going to criticize you should at least use common sense.

He was a soldier, and he had no choice: German total mobilization required everyone to enlist.
He was a Hitlerjugend member, and he had no choice, too: every teenager was a member, including young Jews (before 1938).
At least, he wasn't in SS/Waffen SS, like many Clinton's comrades (for example, Izetbegovich).
