You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Telling him he is an idiot makes you look bad.

Be kind. Surprise him with kindness or at leaast a bit of politeness. We are all in this together. The person who appears to be a creep to me may look like an angel to someone else, and ditto for me.

Getting control of your confidence at work can mean the difference between merely getting by, and positively succeeding in your role. Either talk to him, or consult your boss for advice. Remember though that his behaviour is probably the result of feelings of inferiority, so bear this in mind if you confront him, and keep your tone positive and unthreatening.
Others have probably noticed his behaviour too, you may find you are not alone in your opinions.
Let him do the talking so it's clear that he doesn't know the answers, or ask him questions in front of the other person to put him on the spot.
Go direct to the information source where possible, and bypass him altogether.
It's within your rights to raise a more formal grievance, but only use this as a last resort.
Wish you good luck !!!!

Do you have another co-worker who will corraborate this behavior? If so both of you go to a supervisor or Human Resources and see what can be done about the situation.

Need more detail. Why does he drive you nuts? Does he not do his work and you have to do it? Does he just talk to much? Does he think he knows everything but does not know anything?

If he is an idiot, then telling him anything won't work.
Try giving him a hug for getting you the BIG coffee.

Put superglue on his chair. If he gets stuck, you can easily avoid him. If he manages to free himself, he will probably go home to change his trousers, and you'll have gotten rid of him for a little while.

I'm in the Army, so I just tell them to start pushing until I get tired.

You are responding to him. Just ignore him. He will get it. DON'T SLIP OR YOU HAVE TO START OVER!
