The truth is, there is no god, but we can't handle the truth. Your mind can't handle knowing that it will not exist once you actually die. To know that there is nothing after you die is too scary for your brain and will actually force your to belive there is something, anything when there is nothing. Is it so hard to belive that we live and die the same as animals, how are we better than an ant i crush, its dead, it aint got to 'heaven'.
our brains don't want to DIE, religon makes it all better. You think poeple are addicted to drugs because they need to escape reality, what is that, 10% of the population at the most? Now look at the 80% that are ADDICTED to 'god' because they cant handle life?!

Religon's answer is, people that don't belive in god have no moral authority in them to good. Cause if you don't belive in 'god' good and evil don't exist, you could kill someone and not care.
I am a good person all by myself and don't need a 'god' to help me be good, I AM GOOD

I couldn't have said it better myself. People spend so much time on preparing for an after life that they forget to live the only one they will likely have. We are the equivalent of any being on this planet, we're just the only ones that know death is coming before it actually does. Hence religion; it takes the scary out for some, and controls the masses.

While I agree that some people are rather weak-minded and follow their religion blindly, I don't think that believing in a higher power alone makes one weak. It's the ones who aren't bright enough to see the forrest from the trees. Like the people in Kentucky for example, who just opened up a whole museum about creationism. It's fancy, expensive, and entertaining, but not at all based on fact or reality. Yet people will be bringing thier children to this place for years to come so they can learn how the invisible man in the sky just snapped his fingers and created every thing, just like that.
I'm not some overzealous religious person, but the way that question is worded, it leads me to think that somebody has PROVEN that there is no God. As far as I know, that hasn't happened.

If God is a drug...sedate me constantly. The truth is, I love my life as a Christian and believer. I am constantly going through trials and being perfected (I use that very loosely) and to know that I can count on Jesus to get me through my trials is an awesome thing. In the end, when I die...by some weird circumstance you are right, I still lived my life the way that I wanted to.
BUT in the end if you are wrong...eternity is forever...where do you think you will be. If you refuse to believe, that is your choice but I guarantee, one day YOU will stand before Him as he says, "Who are you? I don't know you either"
You are no more "good" than anyone else. The Bible tells us there are NONE righteous...no not one. And also that ALL fall short of the Glory of God

You mean there's no God ? Today is thursday ( Thor's day ). I've been praying to Thor all morning. Now you tell me he's no more. What happened to the poor guy ?
No wonder our brain power is so low. With all of our Gods going, what can we do ? I suppose you'll tell us the poor Woden is on his way out too.

Yes, you are right..."Humans can't handle the truth about God." But you are wrong about this group of "humans" that you speak of.
Non-believers can't handle the truth that there is, in fact, a God. Because it means that we ARE accountable to something greater. It means that what we do in this life DOES matter. And it means that we WILL bow before Him one day.
God is a drug for people who openly seek the truth.

You can't handle the fact that some people believe in something greater than themselves, with the HOPE there is something more after death. How do you know that animals don't go to heaven? Atheists always think they are great thinkers and people that believe in God are weak and stupid to believe in something more. I think when you CLOSE YOUR MIND to the greater possibilities of this world and how things happen to be here, you can't explain it all and you are the one that is scared. And what's it to you if other people believe in life after death ... are you threatened by the fact there might be something greater than you???

Why does talk about God make you so nervous? Sounds like you are trying to erase him from your mind to justify something else.
If I had to choose between believing in Him and not believing in Him here's how I would see it:
If I die believing in Him and find out that He doesn't exist, I have lost nothing. If I die NOT believing in Him and find out that he does exist, I have lost everything.
I know that He does exist and I'll trust in Him until the day I die.

The mental body in mankind is still in its early stages of development and cannot as yet comprehend the entire plan as it truly is in the mind of God.Cosmic awareness is something that take a long time to develop and can cover several incarnations before we even begin to understand the full plan as it is in the mind of the creative Logos of this planet. We are on our way to becoming divine incarnations of the one most Holy God and in becoming beacons of light to watch over our fellow human beings

So, what are are you worried about it for? If there is no God, then the only thing we believers are doing is living to a higher set of standards than you. What's the harm in that? Why do you feel the need to attack us, attack our intelligence, and attack our religion, just because you don't want to believe?

Drug power of worship in belonging to some sect or organisation has been around since Adam and Eve ate those apples I guess.
The human race should have stuck to those bananas and nuts and lived in the trees I guess again.
