The biggest companies are always the worst polluters. DOW and BP are the big environmental jerks. They have more resources than most countries, and they muscle their way around environmental laws. In some cases they are directly responsible for the environmental laws. They created the CFC ban, which resulted in the banning of one of their own major products. Why would they do this? Because freon is safe and cheap and therefore, non-profitable. Things that are hard to make and environmentally dangerous create more profit and create ancillary industries to deal with safety issues. This is crappy for consumers but really great for companies. Just look at the difference in price to charge your AC in your car... used be maybe 75 bucks to have that done. Now 75 bucks doesn't even cover the materials, and the stuff they put into your compressor is very dangerous. If it leaks out it could poison you... freon on the other hand, can be inhaled with nearly no effect, and there is not sufficient evidence that it has any effect on ozone.

Energy producing companies. Weather they use coal, oil, or nuclear reactors... these companies produce the most pollution.
