When I had that problem, I ended up just keeping copies of my important stuff on disk and let 'em delete all they wanted.
I.T. finally got tired of rebuilding my machine and caught the guy who was messing with my computer.

Create a specific user name for you and make sure that its an Administrator account. Next, right click the folder you want to make then uneditable and select security.
From the security tab, delete all the members allowed to view the file including everyone and enter your name there and click on OK.
Again open the properties windows and this time, select the Everyone member and uncheck the Write and Modify Options and click on ok.
Thats it. Now except you, others cannot delete the folders you have set these permissions.
Best of Luck

Depending on whether it is a Work or Personal computer, the solution is can be affected. If it is a personal computer, set-up accounts for each user, and place files you don't want deleted in the "My Documents" folder under *your* ID.
For a work computer, that would depend on your network set-up, and you still can not prevent them from being deleted from SysAdmins.

You need to give us a little more context. Is it on a school computer? A public terminal? At home? A different solution would work for each of these settings. At home, just make the buggers quit it.

Yes...make them hidden.
To make the file hidden right click on it and go to properties.
From there, check the box that says hidden. then click ok. Make sure the folder that its in is set to not show hidden files.(for info on that email me, its easy.)
good luck!
