Whata GAS! The Noah Flood story is very true. The World had become so corrupted Angels on Earth were they don't belong. A complete breakdown of Society. And Atheism had nothing to do with it. The Babylonians are not the only civilization to have a story of a universal flood. It is found in cultures all over the world. It has been found among Indian tribes, Eskimos, people in the South Pacific Islands. What is the common source?
Besides that, all over the Earth we find the remains of shellfish, even on the top of high mountains. How can this be explained? What is the explanation for all of the fossils? Animals have to be buried fast in order to fossilize. Whales have been found standing on their heads. What could have caused animals all over the world to become enveloped rapidly?
Do you believe that the Grand Canyon was formed over millions of years? Then why hasn't the Tigris River done the same? Or the Mississippi?
All evidence points to a universal cataclysm.

I didn't know many actually took it literally anymore, it has been proven impossible from every possible angle possible.
For one, Noah's boat was almost the size of the Titanic, and it was made soley out of wood. Even without cargo, it would have cracked and sank within minutes. Funny thing is, the cargo would have weighed more than the boat itself.
We also do not have anywhere near the amount of water in our atmosphere to flood the earth. It would take about four times the water we currently. have, melt all the ice, and it would still be about 4 times, or not even close.
Let's say God just magically put all the water there. With that much water in the atmosphere, all current land mammals would literally drown, just be breathing in the water.
And of course a flood of this magnitude would leave erosion everywhere, and there is none anywhere to support a global flood.

I think you will find that most educated Jews and Christians are well aware of the Epic of "Gigamesh" (sp).
If anything, the Gilgamesh story suggests there is a current of truth to the narrative. When stories are so prevalent in a region that all cultures have some variation of the myth, then anthropologists often assume there is a kernel of truth to them.
I think it not unreasonable to think that some Neolithic farmer - when the Nile or Euphrates flooded - brought his animals and family into a boat he'd built, and they survived.
For we Christians, the story of the flood is most important in that it prefigures baptism - the cleansing of sin in water. It is the parable aspect of the story that is the most important thing to us, not the actual cubits of a long deteriorated wooden boat.

You must mean the Epic of Gilgamesh...
The Flood of Noah (Genesis 7-9) preceded Babylon, and it is in Babylon where language was confused, so there is no basis to think that translations were accurate from one language to another to share stories between cultures. In fact, the Bible states that God confused man's language so that they could NOT communicate with one another.
Get out a study Bible and look for the story of the Tower of Babel (Babylon). (Genesis 10 & 11)
Aside from that, even science supports a massive flood about the time of Noah. That's why we believe the story of Noah's flood.

My poor misguided man have you not looked into so many details that prove it is true such as the histories fom all over the world that tell of it and many of them never heard of this gigamesh and animals found with extinct vegetation found still fresh or the ark itself being discovered on Mt Arat in turkey how much more proof do you want
