I have discovered a small bump under my skin on my forearm. Its not visible to the naked eye, I only knew it was there because I felt it. It also happens to be under an unraised freckle. I also have a family history of cancer. My father had Melanoma twice. Should I just go directly to a Dermatologist or have a General Practitioner refer me if they feel a need too. I am very scared this could be cancer...

Go and see you're GP. Doesnt sound sinister and if they are concerned they could refer you on, but its quicker to see you're GP and they could put you're mind at rest quickly.

Go to your GP, most insurace companies will not pay unless you have a referal. Your doctor will also be able to tell if this is calcinosis or another benign lesion. Get it checked out and stay calm. God Bless

I would go to a GP first and get him to refer you to a good dermatologist. Good luck, I'm sure its nothing.

see your g.p. first. he'll run the tests to decide if you need to see someone else.
