In the Bible there is a story of a woman who had an "issue" of blood for 12 years She had enough faith that if she could only touch the hem of Christ's garment she would be healed. Christ felt her tug at His clothes. When He saw her and knew of her faith He healed her. Most of us don't have the faith that she did. Maybe that's why most of us don't see the miracles first hand. I know people who have survived crashes and accidents that no man can explain. I have a relative who was told she had cancer and then their cancer was gone. Doctor's want to say there were errors on more than one test. Human error caused the blood tests, xrays, and sonograms to be wrong. I say they can't explain it and they say this because they don't have faith that someone (GOD)is a greater healer than they are. I beleive that suffering is used as a teaching tool. I know that when my son was severely ill I became closer to God. I relied on Him to pull my son through and he did. My son's illness humbled me in a way that even my own illnesses couldn't. Modern medicine has come so far and now is healing so many, but without God allowing the doctors and scientist the knowledge, these practices would not have been successful. This is my opinion based on my faith. I know everyone will not agree with me and some will make fun of me, but the Lord says if I am ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of me. So, for that reason I feel the need to express my opinion. Good luck with your search for answers. I will keep you in my prayers.

First off, your first mistake is using the myth that God is all-powerful. That is correct. I am a Christian that doesn't believe God holds power over everything. I don't believe that just because the wind blows or the rain falls that God is doing it. I believe he set some things in motion that are simply events of nature. I think this also includes sickness. There are animals that get sick everyday, and they die. We were never meant to live forever. I believe a miracle isn't always someone being healed of something. However, I do believe that healing comes from God. But, I do not believe all healing is instantaneous. If we sit around waiting for God to cure cancer, but we refuse to go to the doctor, we are limiting a way that God can work through a doctor. I believe the way that we have grown in medical technology is a miracle. The things we are able to do now is amazing. Also, I think that miracles can be small or large. I have had miracles in my own life through healing of depression and anxiety as well as being healed of past hurts. Some people may not call that a miracle, but I do because I know that peace over some awful things of my past did indeed come from God. Remember, miracles are happening, but people sometimes ignore them because we pass them off as not as important because they didn't have a thing to do with medical miracles. There are other ways for a miracle to happen. As far as God healing some people and not others, I believe that is something that is one of the hard things to understand in our faith. It has nothing to do with how good someone is. It's not about God's favor on someone and his disapproval of someone else. It isn't about how strong someone's prayer was or the lack of someone else's faith. I don't think that God just goes around looking for some people to heal and some people to kill or allow to die. I believe cares and heals the emotional pain when people do pass away, but death is a part of life. I believe that God allows that because that is what he set into motion in the laws of nature.

Jesus miracles proved that he was sent from God and it also gave a glimpse of what he will do as Gods King in the heavenly Kingdom, or government.
The apostles were given these abilities too. When they died these miracles would stop. (1 Cor 13:8-11)
God does not have any physical healings happening right now, but have given his written word, the bible, for people to learn about his government that in a near future will take away all kinds of illness along with many other sufferings. (Rev 21:1-5;Isaiah 33:24)
This is the Kingdom that Jesus continually kept pointing to and taught us to pray for. (Matt 6:9,10)
To be counted as one of the righteous who will live on earth when this government rules (Psalms 37:11,29), one needs to take in accurate knowledge and live by it. (John 17:3;3:16;1Tim 2:4)

Miracles frequently happen, but they are frequently considered sacred and personal so they aren't shared publicly. The scriptures say that miracles happen according to faith and that's true.
It's also true that people sometimes don't experience a miracle because they don't ask for one.
Sometimes God has a plan for our development that requires us to not be healed from some affliction. For example, the Apostle Paul refers to a "thorn in the flesh" that God wouldn't take away.
Earth life isn't just some game with humans as pawns, it's an opportunity to grow and develop in ways that weren't practical in God's presence.

As Jesus walked the earth healing the sick and oppressed you will notice that he did these things were the people believed or as he taught their faith and belief rose up and the miraculous took place.
In the towns were they did not want him to teach, did not accept him, or argued Jesus was limited on healing or moved from that area and the miraculous did not happen.
God is respectful and does not force himself on people.
Not sure if you are aware but their are many miracles taking place all over the world but they are happening in Church's where it is being taught or people are studying and apply the word of God in their lives and obeying HIS leading.
Church's or people that don't teach or believe God can heal don't get the miracles.

Well for myself I don't want to perform or ask for any physical healing miracles. I have seen one occur myself, a disease with no cure just utterly vanished from my first girlfriend..... But all physical healing is temporal anyway... spiritual healing is more important. If God can create the universe, as I believe he can do, fixing a broken bone is no problem. But physical health is not important, even if we cured all your diseases you would still die eventually. If I wanted I suppose I could try performing a healing miracle (though I know I cannot do it under my own power), but I simply have no desire to try. Everyone dies, only the spirit is important.
And in a way we have done many greater things than Jesus. We went to the moon, something he didn't do. We can fly around the world in a day, he couldn't do that. Humanitarian groups have fed probably millions around the world, he just fed.... lets see..... 5,000, 7,000..... and 12.... so 12,012 people or so.

We DO see miracles. But God is not a vending machine, and it is irrational to expect Him to behave like one.
Besides, modern science can trace its roots to Christianity. How many hundreds of thousands of years did mankind stumble around in the dark with the SAME brain capacity as today? Yet science was a joke until Christianity began affecting the thinking of the elites. That's no coincidence!

If God just went around healing everybody every time they got sick or hurt then there would be no point in trying to go to Heaven, we'd never die. also, i see miracles. I've had a close encounter with death before, honest. and i hear people's stories and i don't think everybody makes up stories like that.
and im not saying God hates people who don't believe in Him but how could someone help you if they're being pushed away. that's only in some cases though, that's what i think.

Healing is just like salvation. Its a gift, you have to receive it. Some people receive their healing, others never reach the place of being able to receive it.
Some people remain sick, because their hearts are never softened to God so they can be healed. Sickness should make a person turn to God and choose him and all his ways over their own, to give up their lives totally and completely to him. People wander away from God and get sick so they will turn to him and be saved from the judgement they would be under if they died in the place they were in, but instead of turning and being healed, they choose to die instead.
Others are miraculously healed for a lack of ability to know how to turn to God, and out of mercy so they can learn more and choose him over judgment.
Just read the bible. Its all in there.

I am a Christian, and unfortunatly i can not answer that. However I ASSURE you that just becasue some people are healed and others are not, is not a way of showing favorites of God. God loves everyone and he created them just the way he wanted. As for your other question, Christians do preform miricales- they tell others of God and save their spiritual soul so when they die, they will be able to live in heaven, pain free. I hoped this helped!
