I have a Sandisk Extreme iii compct flash memory and was wondering if they worked on a Nikon D80 camera?? The slot on the camera looks a little small on the pic, so I was wondering.

The Nikon D80 takes SD type cards, so your CF card will not fit.

This link, part of an in-depth review for the D80, confirms the storage type and also lists all of the other specs:

No! Though the D80 replaces the Nikon D70s, it uses an SD card only.

There seems to be a growing trend now towards only two cards, the CF and the SD. The CF card seems to be targeted for professional cameras and the SD card for the consumer products. I think in the next few years you'll only see those two formats and which is needed depends upon how sophisticated the camera you're buying is.

You can go to camera ro electronic stores to see the cmaera displays. You can play with them, open them up and see what type of memory card will fit.
